Sportsnet would dedicate a whole day posting articles on their website about how much of a travesty it was. It would be the only topic of discussion for both intermissions the next day on whatever game they aired.

I really wish they would make a blue line "backcourt" rule or something.

Was at the Dome (people - seriously, be better about wearing your masks. Pathetic tonight.)

Backlund unloaded on the ref. A linesman had to intervene and get between Backs and the ref.

The ref was a coward and an incompetent imbecile

Yup.

The best "competitor" types know how to funnel their passion and frustration continually into their game, rather than getting pulled out of their game.

Expect things to go against you at some point, and rise to the occasion to counter it. The refs drop the ball on a lot of nights. So be ready for it, rather than letting it throw you through a loop.

This won't be the last time this happens.

Saros was unbelievable tonight. I love what I’m seeing from Johnny. He is all over the puck offensively and makes a play here and there tying up sticks and poking pucks loose on the back check and along the boards. Really happy for Kylington what a beauty of a goal. If this is losing a game in the Sutter system I can live with that. Tough way to lose in OT tonight though.

There was a play in the 3rd when it seemed like Nashville was pushing hard on the forecheck and causing us problems - and the puck got chipped to Johnny and I saw what I believe is the key difference between this year's Johnny and last year's Johnny.

Instead of chipping the puck out by backhand slapping the puck, he remained calm and made a small chip further back into the defensive zone and then carried the puck out himself after he cycled and could see the full ice. He was in complete control, and wanted to maintain that control.

Johnny is taking his game to a new level in my eyes.

Outside of Johnny's night, I felt like everything that was "automatic" during the win streak was a struggle tonight. Pucks got bobbled, passes were just slightly off, shots barely missed - and that's all to be expected sometimes. The effort was still there and as great as ever. Tonight? The bounces and then the ref were against us. We still got the OTL and that's an important point.

Great start to the season.

Sounds like concussion for Ritchie. “Deemed out of the game”.

That missed trip can’t happen in any hockey game. That was horrible to not call it.

My guess - Dube back to the wing, Richardson draws in, Gawdin (RHS) called up

Pelletier to Buffalo

Would love to see Mangiapane - Dube - Pelletier

But I would assume that Richardson will get in

He and Ruzicka lead the team in points. Duehr shoots right and had a great camp. Gawdin’s had the most NHL experience.

They may call someone up but they also might not play, so Gawdin?

I want to just watch Darryl talk about hockey games. Like, director's DVD commentary style. I would watch hours and hours and hours of that.
