Interesting article about whether Obama's birth certificate even matters in regards to his legitimacy as President. "Natural born" citizens of the United States are allowed to hold the office. The question is whether natural born citizen includes children born outside the US to US citizens. The precedent set by past interpretations of the law imply that Obama's Presidency would still be legitimate even if he was born in Kenya.

To be fair Republicans have been saying it was a distraction and helped Obama for some time now. Most Republican canadates were upset that the question was constantly being raised in interviews with reporters.
Anything that distracts people from the economy and deficit spending I'm sure is welcomed by Obama.
Obama would have been forced to prove eligibility before the next election anyways. Several States were in the process of inacting laws forcing all the canadates to provide proof.

The really remarkable thing is that the President of the United States can spend millions hiding and the "doctoring up" his birth certificate and some guy with a PC and a youtube channel can pick it all apart in a matter of hours. Truly incredible.

In response to Donald Trump, Rand Paul (son of Ron) asked him if he has credentials of his own.
“I’ve come to New Hampshire today because I’m very concerned,” Paul told the Merrimack County Republican Committee in Concord this morning.
“I want to see the original long-form certificate of Donald Trump’s Republican registration.”
“Seriously, don’t you think we need to see that?” Paul said as laughter and applause broke out throughout the room.
“The serious part of what I was saying was that it’s going to be hard for him to explain giving $4,800 to Harry Reid in the last cycle and giving $24,000 to Charlie Rangel,” the Senator later explained, urging party members to look to potential 2012 candidates “who not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.”
I think this is 100% a put on by Trump. He doesn't believe it at all. 5 years ago all his positions were reversed. I think he was a member of Ralph Nader's Green Party.
Even if it's a put on, Trump aligning himself with racists is a dumb move. As someone else said this is way to attack Obama's race without making it too obvious.
All potential Republican voters are going to remember in three months is that Trump made Obama release it. This will slide right off him. Trump has the mentality the voters want (and a refined bluster to take on the lame-stream media).
