Blanket statements like “Albertans will vote blue no matter what” are inaccurate and play into the trope of western rednecks which simply isn’t true. With Albertas low number of ridings it isn’t worth it for parties to invest resources to flip a low number of seats.

It also comes down to the quality of the candidates and their local messaging.
In my riding, there was not a quality left leaning candidate and the CPC put forward a strong candidate. This meme sums it up.

I am going be very curious to see who Carney includes in his cabinet as it would be an early indication if he truly is about unity.
For example, if he puts Guilbeault back anywhere near Energy, Natural Resources or the Environment files that would be a giant FU to Alberta.

It looks like all ridings have been called. The Liberals held on to Terra Nova in the end.
So baring any unlikely recount reversals, the Liberals will finish with 169 seats. The Conservatives will have a decent opposition force with 144 seats.

Listened to Ben Mulroney's radio show for five minutes driving work today (before I couldn't listen anymore); with the amount of whining and complaining and raging from conservative callers today, you'd think the Earth is about to go through an imminent nuclear apocalypse.
Some of these conservatives need to calm their tits a bit, geezus christ; turn off the media, go touch some grass, and remember that we live in one of the best countries in the world with some of highest standards of living on the planet. Things will be fine lol.

That’s what happens when you take a certain mindset then hyper radicalize it with pure-hate fume propaganda, for years.

I would have to imagine that there will be a few recounts. That nova peninsula was won by 12 votes.

These people have no clue how our political system works. They get all their info from American MAGAts like Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk.

Ben Mulroney is 100% going to be involved in the next CPC leadership race.

Shhhh! Don't tell busboobs or she will want to separate...and be inserted between Ontario and Quebec. Or just change our time to be three hours ahead so we're ahead of their time zone! And re-name the St. Lawrence to the "Berta Waterway, sponsored by WEM.

I would think so eh. If the previous prime minister can be a complete full of crap person with a famous dad, why wouldn't Mulroney. He's gonna need to nuke Rebel News from existence.

Boy that's close to a majority, there are already some rumors of Don Davies crossing over to the Liberals from the NDP circulating on social media, but with the gap to a majority being 3 seats probably doesn't make too much difference. Hard to see 3 MPs defecting
I could have seen them offering some kind of plum role to Elizabeth May like a cabinet seat to firm it up if they had won one more seat to get to 170 and Davies joined the Liberals.

They are the best thing to happen to the liberals and the left. Surprised they don't get federal funding.
