I’m loving this trade, but I really need to know how a 2028 7th gets added…
It's kind of funny.
I always thought that 7th rounders are kind of fun picks for GMs though. You have nothing to lose when you use them because the odds of getting an NHLer are so slim, so you can just go right off the rails and go with your gut.
But like was it a deal breaker... like if Conroy said no, would that have killed the deal? Probably not I would think.

Seeing how Pelletier could have been had for nothing on waivers and Kuzmenko seemingly had no value, this is a win. Only thing is Pelletier's potential to break out.
Good takes from the people noting this is a bit of a buy low situation on Frost. He likely gets more minutes and better opportunities vs how it was under Torts. Excited we got him.
Farabee is a really nice addition too. Conroy is bang on when saying he's a Coleman type player. Gritty, responsible defensively, and has a touch of scoring in him.
I think Pelts and Kuzy are great guys, easy to root for. Wish them all the best on the Flyers.
The Flames did not have a 1st, 2nd or 3rd round pick in the 2018 draft.
However, they now have the 7th (Farabee), 9th (Sharangovich), 34th (Pospisil) and 35th (Bahl) top point producers from that draft. And if Klapka were drafted, he would be 69th. That's 2 1sts, 2 2nds, and a 3rd.
(Frost is 16th in the 2017 draft, BTW)

Feels like a crazy good trade. Almost makes up for the Gilmour trade.
True story:
When that trade happened I was newly divorced and partying with friends in a large hot tub snuggling up to an absolute hottie I met on new years eve, when someone brought the news and details, not only did I loose my mind I lost the hottie and never saw her again.
There will never be a trade as bad as the Gilmore trade...ever!
