Imagine going from Huska to Torts, poor Pelts.

I think it's great deal for Flames. But I'm not sure why Flyers trading those players now.
May be they are preparing for Pettersson trade?

Unless you’re getting a 25 or younger D or RH C, I can’t see this guy being moved as part of a package. He’s a versatile asset.

I wss hoping the Flames could find that Marcus Nilsson 2004 deal for a youngish guy who could play center with some upside for a reasonable price. Frost certainly fits that bill but with more offensive upside. Add in Farabee and it is s couple pieces who help now and could have good future value.
Have a lot of respect for how Pelletier handled himself going to the AHL and finding ways to be impactful after coming back up. Hopefully the new guys can bring that type of energy with a change of scenery away from Torts.

That's exactly what I think they'd get if theyoved him in a deal.

Flyers tested it on NhL25 and a 7th needed to be added to go through.

Ultimately, the fact Calgary got two players who belong in an NHL lineup and who also have a teensy bit of upside puts me in their corner. It’s a cheap upgrade that could help them get a couple of home playoff games, given their spot in the standings. Philly, meanwhile, dumps Farabee’s contract. Perhaps that’s all reason enough. Still, though — mediocre teams moving mediocre assets. Don’t let the size of the deal fool you.

Every way I look at this trade i see it as a slam dunk. Kuzmenko was negative value few weeks ago and Pelts (I felt) was starting to look in over his head on the first line. I think he was another lost game removed from moving back to the 3rd/4th line.
We include a 2nd which we can recoup at the deadline or draft + 7th round pick.
In return we get:
Frost — minimum 40 point 2 way centre with untapped potential. He is an RFA at season end and I can see him getting a similar deal to Sharky. I really hope he is our Lindholm 2.0. Similar numbers and age prior to joining the flames.
Farabee: 20 goal winger with an edge. Signed for another 3 years at a respective 5 million which is on par for a 20 goal scorer.
I do see Kuzmenko having his “honeymoon” bump and going on a tear to finish the season. But long term he was not staying with the flames.
Pelts I feel will blossom (at his peak) as a 40-50 point winger.
All I can think of from this trade is..
“Brière you drunk bro?”
In Con Man we Trust.

May be they trade Rasmus Ristolainen, prospect and 1st for 2025 for Pettersson. And they draft bottom 3 next year or 2.
