This isn’t meant to defend Danielle Smith, but rather an observation of politics in the western world in the age of YouTube, twitter, and other social media platforms. It’s now a campaign strategy to say inflammatory stupid crap to try and get profile to mobilize the crazy / fringe / non voter vote and so long as there isn’t a ‘straight’ candidate on the same side of the spectrum the non-crazies are forced to still vote for them. I suspect that personalities like Lauren Boebert, AOC, Iilhan Omar, Marjorie Taylor Greene, all do their acts for similar reasons.

I follow North Carolina congressman Democrat Jeff Jackson who has a big following on social and he said something a month or two ago that one thing he noticed is that all the big crazy ‘personalities’ seem to only act that way in sessions that are in front of TV cameras and actually are quite sane when the cameras aren’t rolling for committee sessions etc.

Here’s hoping for Alberta’s sake that it’s something similar for Danielle Smith.

From your comments I assume you’re a conservative supporter. Would it then not be ignorant to ask you to leave Canada since I’m sure you have a strong dislike for our current Prime Minister.
Leave Canada? zamler didn’t even have the fortitude to leave a message board lol

It would have been nice without all the insults and mocking of people's views.

I see the UCP candidate in Calgary who made the racist comments about black people won. Another stellar look for my hometown.

Well, Smith is going to make sure that no new voices are heard unless they are in her small camp. That’s how Canadian parliamentary systems work. Ordinary members have zero power or voice. That’s reserved for the leader and a few cabinet members.

Hell, name a Liberal MP who’s not Trudeau or Freeland.

There was at least 6 that were within a percentage point, a couple hundred votes.

If one of the remaining polls was a larger advance poll, and that poll leaned even slightly NDP, it would flip.

The racism? The bigotry? The MAGA?

Just go back to being a conservative. You don't have to keep cosplaying in orange now.

Trouble is, a ton of the crazy stuff Smith says was meant to be in private to her insiders.

No. For creating a thread with hopes of getting him banned and all the insults he endured. Then you all ask him to put all that aside so he can answer your questions. That's a warped view you have there bud.

When I see low turnouts like that, for me it means a vote for "none of the above". A lot of those people probably don't like either party/leader, and disliking one more than the other doesn't motivate people to vote. It actually does the opposite. Liking a party, leader or platform is what gets more people out to vote.
