It drives me absolutely bonkers every offseason how our fanbase and other fanbases rival to the Oilers are the only ones who see that they're really not a great team and are just buoyed by McDavid and Draisaitl. The only year that the Oilers weren't who we thought was last year and the only reason for that (apart from the usual McDavid/Draisaitl buoying) was a combination of dumb luck and an other-worldly PK that there was zero chance of them ever repeating. And even then they were this close to being swept in the Finals by an actually good team.

Yeah I classified those under "dumb luck" lol. Both the Stars and Canucks (especially the Canucks) had them figured out and seemingly just stopped playing and let them take the series.

Guessing since they knew Mavi and Pissy would be running out of gas now and want them to get rested to keep Edmontons chances alive.

"The two best players on the planet" is getting so ####ing old. McDavid isn't even the best player, never mind his pouty partner in crime who can't even carry his own line.

13th in 5v5 P/60 and 9th in EV Goal differential are great stat lines, but they don't equate to being the second best player. They equate to playing with McDavid.

Devon Toews is #1 in EV Goal differential, is he the best defenseman in the world? Forsling is #2, second best player in the world? So tiring to hear all the time.
