It was briefly mentioned that it was from the Prez, but the whole story is that he started some thread about picking up women in Calgary. Someone told him to "take it easy Mr. Slick" or something along those lines. He replied with "It's not necessary to call Mr. Slick" instead of "It's not necessary to call me Mr. Slick", and thus and CP meme was born.

I got stranded out in Canucks territory for about 5 months. CP was the only thing that made the hurt go away. I was pretty much logged in the whole time.
