Great deal, especially with the cap going up.
Edit: I see a limited no trade clause to 8 teams in the last 3 years. That's the one negative thing I would say here. I don't want players like this having no trade clauses because it restricts what you can do for a guy that is a depth player and not one of your franchise players. A small mistake there.

So would you be okay if the contract was something like 6x6.25 and did not include the no trade clause? That's also a way to drop the AAV, and if 8 years was not a consideration for one of the camps, that's really the only way to secure a lower AAV.
I personally don't mind light trade protection. It doesn't often seem to be a huge barrier if the team is really gunning for a trade, and ideally Bahl will play that whole contract through his prime anyways!

I'm just generally against any NTC or NMC for anyone that isn't a cornerstone or franchise player. They're overused and it just messes things up when teams need to make moves.
I understand it's a bargaining chip for players, but GMs hand them out way too often.

This is another excellent contact by Conroy. Bahl is a stud. Term and AAV are great. Love it.

He is still On the rise of the curve for a typical, non-superstar, dman. This is an great deal for the Flames.

Are we talking about the same Kevin Bahl? I’d say consistency and reliability are among his best attributes. Being solid is his thing.

Was hoping for a 7 or 8 year deal, but 6 is less risky for both sides. Money looks right.

Little higher than I thought but Bahl was solid for the team last year

Might allow Conroy to get off his wallet with the top end of the roster at some point

I am big Bahl fan and very happy with this deal. His got more in his game and once he finds that confidence, edge in his game he is going to be a beast. Not sure he can carry a a pairing but he didn't look out of place playing big minutes with Ras last year.
Just a really solid defender at the right age and term for this team.

I agree, but that's the market I guess. No one wants to go to Edmonton.

Nice. He was solid last season and still young enough get a bit better. He averaged more than 21 minutes per game last season and didn't look out of place.
