Great signing. I would have preferred 8x6 or something, but this is really good. 6 years at a good AAV for someone who has really been developing nicely. He is a long-term important piece for Calgary.

Love Bahl the way he is now and also feel that he has more room to grow, which is great. Really happy with this signing.

Love it. He’s earned it. Bahl has been a very pleasant surprise from the Markstrom trade. Big. Well positioned. He’ll never put up huge points, but he’s a got a good first pass out of the zone.

This is more a reflection of the lack of the Flames depth, but the teams worst stretch of the season was when he was injured.

Very different player, but value wise, feels a bit like the Brodie deal. People outside of Flames might think it’s high, but if you actually watch the team / players, you know they bring a lot more than the counting stats.

I think this will age really well.

There was a glaring weakness when Bahl was hurt last year. We are a different team with him on the ice.

I like Bahl, but for that price we could’ve had 1.4 Trent Frederics, soooooo…

No talk on what it could be after that too. Nothing saying it doesn't have a 2-6% increase yearly after 2027. Last year of the deal the cap should be north of $120 mil.

He is a pretty solid dman in my opinion so I'm pretty happy with this signing. I'm not sure I follow anyone saying he isn't very good. Maybe because he isn't flashy?

Fans of other teams won’t really know who he is. I was the same with Kesselring being terrible for the Sabres lol

I would have been happy to do 8 years to drop the AAV under $5 M, but this is a very good contract for a guy that will be a stabilizing force on the defense for many years.

Great deal, especially with the cap going up.

Edit: I see a limited no trade clause to 8 teams in the last 3 years. That's the one negative thing I would say here. I don't want players like this having no trade clauses because it restricts what you can do for a guy that is a depth player and not one of your franchise players. A small mistake there.
