Heys guys straight from my sister Heather - "I'm still singing, we're just adding to our roster for Flames, Hitmen, and Roughnecks. Right now there's only 1 singer per team. No reliable subs when needed. "

I wish I can un-thank a post.
No offense to you but I hate that guy like I hate all of the other Canucks. I hope he doesn't get paid the max as he never sings the whole song....
Also, he appears to have too much skin since he lost all the weight.

Best what? Best in letting the audience sing %80 of the anthem.

I hope they don't hire a wannabe (but obviously failed) opera singer like every other team seems to have.

Cool story bro but, Heather sang at our wedding ceremony at the church we got married at a few years ago. She was exactly like how she is at the games, well composed, and like you said just sang really well. Just one of the things that made the day a extra special.
She has a fantastic voice, and I wish her all the best.

That's because he's like 60% woman 40% man by this point. Started those hormone treatments to lose weight and now he's transforming like Wikus in District 9.

I wish they didn't perform anthems before sporting events. To me, it sort of trivializes the song. How did this practice begin anyways?

Just quoting this because it seems some people missed it.

First done during the 1918 World Series, near the end of the First World War.
Between the wars, it was usually only performed prior to games of significant importance. It came into regular practice during the Second World War, and has remained a tradition since.

Flames would be better served having up and coming singers from the community volunteer to sing the anthems each night. But, that's coming from a guy who probably doesn't appreciated the anthem experience at the games unless we are talking playoffs or huge rival games, because I attempt to roll up to me seats right after the anthem and right before puck drop most nights.

The Flames do not struggle to break even. They don't need to worry about cash.

Good, I'm glad she's still doing it. One of the best anthem singers in the league.

Best anthem singer pound for pound. Liscano always just sang. Nothing special, no gimmick, no fancy rendition, just belt it out. I agree Annie who filled in a few games did a pretty good job too. She seemed like Heather's protege as she had a similar style. Grad. Heather is still around.

I don't remember how she sang, but I do remember that she was extremely hot.
I'd be down.
