So if Stempniak, Stajan and Monahan are injured, my guess is the forward line-up looks like this:
Glencross - Backlund - Hudler
Galiardi - Street - Jones
Baertschi - Horak - Jackman
Bouma - Colbrone - McGrattan
Yikes!!

Galiardi - Horak - Street
Bouma - Knight - McGrattan

Isn't Horak and Knight with the heat? Can they make it in time?
Those 2 might no be available. Jackman can play on the 4th line with McGrattan and have Bouma play on the 3rd line?

They can drag the 9 games for the season if they choose. Not that they would.

The Heat are currently in Cleveland, OH for a game tonight against the Lake Erie Monsters.
Cleveland is 2 hours away from Columbus.

One game in and our "top line" is destroyed.
Also listening to Peter Mahr, he suggested Monahan was hurt last night and that's why he didn't play much at the end of the game.
I guess we shall see how it shakes out closer to game time.

I hope its not going to be like this all season. Also we really need Glencross to show up and play with some heart.

With that name he would have been better suited for Cricket or Soccer.

At least if all our veteran players are injured, Hartley will be forced to give baertschi and monahan some ice time.

Galiardi knows what he did and he apologized to the team after the game apparently.
I think the best thing to do is let him go right back out there and show that he will play hard for his team-mates.
Far better to let guys make up for their mistakes than have them stew over them.
|
Agreed. I think I saw Galiardi play quite a bit after the bad penalty in the third and in OT. It would have been nice to make up for the mistake, but at least the team battled hard.
I'm looking forward the Flames having another energetic start. Columbus doesn't have Ovechkin, so hopefully if they get a lead, they can keep it.

He's no Ovechkin obviously, but that Gaborik guy is pretty good

Sven and Monahan each got over 11 minutes last night, not a bad start for the two rookies I'd say. And Backlund got over 20 mins.
I'd say it's a little early to be worried about youngster ice time from Hartley, let's see how things go.
