If thats the case Brodie should be subbed in for by Smith. He was awful last nite. Hope it was just rust on his part.

As long as they aren't already tired (which I doubt from the conditioning in Hartley's camp) they should be able to play another very competitive game and Columbus doesn't quite have the firepower that the Caps do. Joey Mac will give them a chance to win.

If we are without Stajan and Stempniak for tonight's game, that's bad news for a team that is already a little inconsistent in its own zone. Plus, Stempy was absolutely flying last night and that will be missed.

pffttt...he wasn't amazing, but he was ok. You would rather keep O'Brien in the lineup over Brodie?

Aaron Portzline ‏@Aportzline 3s #CBJ D Tim Erixon the last blue-liner off the ice this morning, suggesting he'll be the odd man out tonight vs #Flames. David Savard in.

There is no question that you want (and have to demand) accountability.

However, you are also trying to develop young players - if the message is make a bad play and you sit, you immediately lose all aggressiveness.

Galiardi knows what he did and he apologized to the team after the game apparently.

I think the best thing to do is let him go right back out there and show that he will play hard for his team-mates.

Far better to let guys make up for their mistakes than have them stew over them.

No. But i would put SOB on the PK over Brodie. That was a Hale/Pardy like performance he gave last nite in the 3rd period.

Flames @ Columbus. All I can think of is, "the gun went off!" Anyone have a GIF of that?

Calgary Flames@NHLFlames1m

As per Bob Hartley, Joey MacDonald will start in net tonight. #CGYCBJ pic.twitter.com/K2NsyTb0Ag

Roger Millions@RogMillions2m

Joe Colborne according to Hartley possibility. Medical staff will advise him on status of players. Stajan? #Flames

I personally think Galiardi should sit but you do make a strong argument for the contrary.

My thought is that you need to let young guys go out there and play, but they need to remain disciplined. I would agree with your logic if he made a bad pass, lost his man and it led to a goal, etc. But I think discipline and penalties are more than a simple mistake and they cost the team. If you make a bad play, own the mistake and go back out there and show that you've learned from the mistake. I don't think taking a dumb penalty is a play that falls in that category. Sit him, he'll learn real fast that a lack of discipline is not acceptable.

They should figure out a way to get Jackman, Colborne and Smith in the line-up tonight.

If the Flames are gonna have any chance of success it's gotta be with a team first concept and you have to get everyone involved right off the bat.

Also, TJ Galiardi shouldn't be the scapegoat. Like I said, team first. If the 5 on 3 connects, If Ramo makes one more save, If they capitalize in OT, If they had a hope in hell of winning a shootout, etc, etc. Lots of reasons they lost. Besides, the Flames only took 3 penalties all game.

Could be some line shuffling for tonights game if two out of three are gone from the top(?) line, would be hard to lose both Stajan and Stempniak.

Never got to watch last nights game so looking forward to watching tonight
