Adam Kinzinger is on CNN. Man, there’s a guy I could vote for (if I was in that country.) He really comes across as level headed, pragmatic, and smart. Definitely a Republican not a Retrumplican.

In a politically pragmatic move both Georgia senators fighting in a runoff against democratic opponents have said they support the 2000 cheque. It only takes a few to flip and Mitch is gonna be piiiiiiiissed. Repealing section 230 and the other assorted crap Trump actually wanted to be passed along with it wasn’t attached. There’s a slim chance trumps insane nature may actually help democrats and the american people for once.

Partially. Following the story he sent a list of things he wanted to be included with the $2000 to the house and democrats of course ignored it. His real goal here is to repeal section 230 and end internet protections so he can sue the crap out of any site that bad mouths him. Trying to curry favour is just a happy bonus.
He really thinks he has some sort of power here. He’s already lost once with house republicans voting to override his defence bill veto. The idea of him going “full tyrant” is hysterical fear mongering at this point. It looks like his underlings are turning away from him as they flee the sinking ship. If anything we’ve got about three weeks of insane #### and real tests of if there are any checks and balances on executive power.

Today I believe the senate will be forced to vote whether or not to increase the cheque amount for people from the paltry $600 republicans wanted to the $2000 both democrats and trump want. A few of his senate acolytes have said they will support it because trump does, it will be interesting to see what happens today with McConnell and company.

The speculation I've been hearing is that McConnell will attach some poison-pill provisions to it, count on Democrats to kill it, and then blame them for it. Democrats need to be really clear about the importance of voting on a 'clean' bill.

I imagine it'll be some like the $2,000.00 cheques, amended with banning abortion, making the Bible the law of the land and reducing minority votes to being worth 3/5 a vote.

What is scary is a lot of people will pick the 2k and be absolutely shocked when the Dems shoot it down. "But mah muhnee!!!"
There are an incredible number of people who don't have the luxury of choosing. The $2K literally means a roof over their heads or food in their kids bellies. I cannot imagine being in one of their positions. And $2K doesn't even come close to enough for a lot of folks.

The word i'm hearing is Trump wants an investigation into voter fraud added with Bernie saying it's a deal breaker. He is also promising a filibuster for the rest of the holidays until Moscow Mitch agrees to let people vote.

The Washington Post editorial board has an article today about why these $2000 are such a bad idea, and I agree fully. So many of these checks will go to people who don't need it, and not nearly enough is being done to help the people affected most.
