iPhone 4 and 4s use microsims. You can buy adapters to fit these into regular sim slots on eBay for like 2$ though.

If you've always got both devices with you, you could utilize the "personal hotspot" option. Your iPhone would become a wifi spot, and your tablet can connect to it and use the data plan. Just one option that may be less cumbersome than taking the sim out each time.

Thanks guys. I thought about the Hotspot idea. I was just thinking of a trip I have coming up- I have a 3 hour layover in Vancouver. Would that leave me vulnerable having my iPhone open?
I can also think of a few times where I just took my tablet with me and left the iPhone at home. The tablet has phone capabilities so it's not like I would miss a call.
Decisions, decisions.

The hotspot option lets you set a password, so in theory, nobody would be able to eavesdrop or hack. I don't know the technical specs, however, but I would assume that it is a reasonable level of encryption. Edit: looked it up and it is WPA. Not WEP, thankfully! There are options to tether by USB or Bluetooth as well.
I didn't realize that you could swap the sim that easily. I always assumed (incorrectly, apparently) that the phone provider ties the sim to the device. For the sake of a few bucks, maybe one of those little adapters might be handy to have as well and then you've at least got the option to leave your phone at home if you need/want to.

Looks like I'll be trying the adapter. I just tried to connect my tablet (Android) with my iPhone and it keeps telling me the tablet is not supported.
Does anybody know exactly what adapter I need? Looks like there are two different ones on eBay. (At least the pictures are different.)
Option 1
Option 2

So I have a question...i am eligible for a HUP through Rogers for whatever the price is $349 or whatever for the 64 gb. Can I goto an Apple Store and get that same pricing? And furthermore, does apple have quite the consistent stock of them?

Apple Stores can do upgrades no problem. Just make sure the account is in your name and you have ID.
There should be no stock outages on 64gb 4s.

Has anyone else noticed that the iPhone 4 has had battery issues since the last update? I think it lasts half as long as it did a week ago.

Just a quick heads up: I spoke with the Fido CSR because my wife is going to get an iPhone, and I wanted to press them to give her the $30 6 gig data plan for being a long-time customer, etc. The CSR told me that they are offering the 6 gig plan to those that start a 3-year contract, provided they ask for it, between now and the end of the year. Even if you are an existing customer, they may be more willing and able to give it to you at the moment if you are able to negotiation with them.
Just prior to getting my new 4s and re-signing a 3-year contract, I told them that I wanted the 6 gig data plan or I'd be exploring other options. Afer some back and forth, they agreed and put a note on my file that indicated that it would be available to me once I got my new phone. So now I have the $30 voice plan, the $30 6 gig data plan, and voicemail/call display for $5. So my total bill is about $65 instead of $85, and I get 6 times the data.
They say that they cheapest that you can operate an iPhone on Fido is to get the $25 voice plan and a $25 data plan (500 meg, I believe). So for the sake of ten bucks, I can pretty much use as much data as I want without worrying about it.
Just thought I'd pass that along, just in case anyone is about to start a fresh contract. I joked with the CSR that I didn't even have to threaten to leave to Telus to get more data, and she said that it is available to those that ask without needing to threaten to leave.

^ And, to further my savings, I have cancelled my satellite radio ($16/month) because I have a world of radio stations at my fingertips available for streaming. So it has worked out quite well for me.

My face is a bum!

So my phone tried to wirelessly update to iOS 5.1 and it failed. I think it might be because it ran out of space. Everything still works fine, but it's on 5.0. Is there a way to force it to try again, or do I have to plug the frigging thing in?
I'm finding iTunes/iOS software quality has gone to hell since I first got an iPod touch. Now things only work after several reboots, and wireless synching only works after you've plugged it in (again) with the cable, which becomes quite frustrating. My iTunes upgrade failed twice. My phone has cleared itself of all music and apps 3 times... Then suddenly it will all go into perfectly good working order again for a month or two.

There is several deals that exist all you need to do is ask.
Currently I have:
6 gigs data
Voice-mail & call display
Unlimited texts in NA
Unlimited Calling Anytime & Anywhere in NA
15 Picture messages a month (never used one ever)
Total cost $68.20/month
I milk this contract for all its worth and hand my phone to anyone who wants to make a long distance call from friends to co workers.

got my wife a 4s and with this being her first apple product (other than using my work iphone), she is really enjoying it.
she really likes the siri, but it seems to be up and down alot. i know that it pings the apple servers, and i know that it is a beta product...but it does seem to be more intermittent than i expected it to be. lots of reports on the apple support sites...
just wondering if anyone is having similar issues with Telus?

I haven't had battery issues. But they released an update a few days ago to fix a battery bug that others were reporting.

Quick question:
On my iPhone 4S I have the option of turning on the LED light notifier, but when I do it flashes like 300 times in a matter of a second, is there any way to make it only flash once?
