It’s hilarious how the clowns at SN and other Oiler jock sniffers in the media keep calling it a Stanley Cup hangover, while conveniently leaving out the fact that they didn’t actually win anything, and that their 2 best players were complete no-shows in game 7.

Given some of the oddity we've seen from Edmonton in the last 20 years it wouldn't surprise me at all.
It's the Star Trek method. I think this bit of dialogue came from Star Trek III:

Kirk: Scotty, do you always overestimate your repair times by a factor of four?

Scott: Aye, Captain! How else could I keep my reputation as a miracle-worker?

Or the fact the other team that won the Cup is playing at a .750 clip so far.

Thought this was worth a shallow dive, so I checked the cumulative stats from 2014-15 (Kucherov's first full season) to today.

McDoesn'tbackcheck is first with 992 in 656 games.
Kuch is second with 878 in 687 games.
Broke my heart a little to see Johnny is 10th, with 742 in 762.
(Removing this year bumps Johnny to 9th.)

They're not the oldest team in the league. That's just not fair.

I believe he had 130 points in 18/19. We never saw anything like that before.

He could have been a Flame as well

With the way that the hated Canucks are playing and the way that the Oilers are playing. I fully expect the Canucks to score a td with a two point conversion. the Oilers will likely score a single off of a wobbly punt through the back of the end zone.

And the fact that the team that actually beat them for the Stanley Cup seems to be suffering no such kind of hangover.

More accurately, it's the Clarence Campbell Trophy Hangover.....

We will also ignore that the team that will not be named has made it to the cup finals in back to back years in addition to their strong start again this year.

I was wide eyed when I saw he put up 14 points in the first 5 games or whatever all while the avs were struggling, next D was Rasmus 6 or 7 points behind him.

That's a super elite d-man willing his team to the right result.

Where they are in the standings currently is what they are, outside of two players that is a bad hockey team. If they make the playoffs they are likely overachieving.

Emberson is pointless. Sneaky good pickup, sleeper player of the year.

It’s actually hilarious. Every single broadcast McDavid is proclaimed to be the best in the world. If we are being honest, is he even top 3?

- Makar
- MacKinnon
- Kucherov
- Kaprizov

I don’t think McDavid is ahead of any of those players. Mavi has massive deficiencies in his game and outside of the odd highlight goal he does not eclipse anyone in the list above.
