Classic sarcastic response, but I never said race relations have been resolved. Although I do think moving away from inflammatory language like the word oppressed would go a long way to de-escalating the Us vs Them narrative occurring in the States.
Anyways I'm cheering for Kap to figure it out again, it was a lot of fun watching him shred GB a few seasons in a row. If he gets cut from the Niners it'll be the most meteoric rise and fall of any QB I can remember.

I just don't see blacks matching the dictionary definition term of "oppressed" in America today. That's a severe term that I file more for Jim Crow era blacks, Apartheid South Africa, or Jews in Nazi Europe just to name a few. Furthermore, I believe using such severe language tends to just inflame tensions instead of making things better.
Now if you want to argue with either of those two points that's fine, but instead you took the bobblehead position of pretending I said there were no issues whatsoever. Neither of you have actually engaged me on my position. I was going to let it go since no one wants to read this debate in an NFL thread but I've noticed this as a trend on CP where people see what they want to see in certain positions and boil that argument down to an easily attackable straw man. Again, I NEVER SAID RACE RELATIONS IN THE USA ARE PERFECT.
And you're right, I am lucky this is tucked away because odds are it would have garnered probably a page and a half of posts like yours, with the usual "hahas", " oh yeah everything is great in the USA, you should tell someone, glad you solved it, okie dokie then" and some "Wow"s thrown in for good measure. There could have been a possible benefit there in that maybe you'd see how unoriginal and boring your garbage post is then but somehow I doubt it.

The "dictionary definition" of "oppression" says: prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control. That's the first thing that comes up with Google; MW & OED are similar. I'm not sure where you got your dictionary definition.
You apparently don't agree. You have limited your interpretation - why?
People are being shot for having a different skin colour. Police are being shot because they are police. African Americans ARE feeling oppressed, just because they aren't segregated doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Police ARE being targeted because some people feel they are being oppressed because of race. It IS bad. Your response sounds like you are denying that there is a problem. And with all that has happened in the past couple of years, denying that there is a problem will lead to scorn being heaped upon you.

I am in 100% agreement with your take on Kaep and the 49ers. Tough to see that team driven into the ground with the Yorks. I always thought Kaepernick was a "tools not the toolbox" kind of guy, but I must admit I thought his statements to the media were really well thought out and I respect him for what he is saying. Selfishly, I just wish he could throw the damn ball more accurately!

Bridgewater's numbers were pretty much bang average last year, so it shouldn't be too hard to replace him. Problem is there's no average QBs available. Nick Foles probably wishes he sat out another couple weeks, probably walks right in and starts in Minny.
