Yeah, I don't get that decision. He is a Western Canadian guy and could have parachuted into a riding. I guess they thought that having a party leader in an Ontario riding would help flip a swing riding in their favour rather than wasting it on a sure thing in Sask or Alberta?
He can still mathematically win the riding, so maybe it will be a moot point by morning.

PP saying that the Cons will work with the other parties to defend Canada against the U.S. tariffs, etc.. is a good thing. But until we actually see it in action, I don't believe a word this little weasel says.

Up to 70% reporting in Carleton, still 2500 down. If it wasn't a party leader would they have called it for Fanjoy?

Would have been a bad look for him to move from the riding he's represented for his entire career.

These are unprecedented times so as long as there is a threat to Canada I can see the cons working with the government to weather the storm. Once that is done I'm certain the gloves will come off and it will be back to opposition fighting.

If Pierre loses he might actually go down as one of the most influential politicians of our era.
He'd be the guy that managed to get rid of Justin Trudeau, AND Pierre Poilievre!

It's interesting how many liberal incumbents in Ontario are going down, cost Carney his majority.

Probably something along the lines of:
CPC has a leadership review
if PP is kept on, someone in Calgary or Sask isnasked fo steps down and there is a byelection for PP
if PP is dropped, JD Vance's best friend becomes leader of Her (His?) Majesty's Loyal Opposition because i am cynical AF
