Love it! Would have been happy to give him $8.5 for 8 years!

First round on Wolf at Country Hills today I'd assume.

Getting it under 8/year could be a masterstroke.

Incredible deal to cap off a summer where it really feels like he has embraced wanting to be the face of the franchise
McDavid sees this signing, Parekh, the new building coming, plus Conroy’s A+ people skills, maybe being a Flame next year wouldn’t be that bad… jk

When asked what he's doing to celebrate/how he's feeling:
"I'm going out tonight, I'm feeling alright"

Was having a rather bummer type of morning, glad I chose to open CP and see this news. This is awesome for the team and the timing couldn't be better.

Great deal, some risk involved since it's a goalie, but Wolf deserves it and will continue to get better I think.
One thing I do wish they did in the new CBA is allow teams to collapse terms to smooth the cap hit if they wish.
Would be pretty awesome if they could have signed this deal and have it count as $6.675 against the cap for the next 8 years.

It's quite the commitment based off one season's work but given Wolf's history of success at every level and the rising salary cap, it's a good bet to place.

I love it! So happy for the kid and for us fans. He'll have his ups and downs like any goalie, but as far as the "a lot of money for one season of work" thing...he has put the work in down in the AHL and been the best goalie there for years prior to last season. This is going to be a fun team to play on and watch for years to come...can't wait for the season to start.

Good bet on this contract - Wolf's performance should exceed value here long-term. I am curious how other fanbases perceive this - they probably think it is on the high side (including term) for a guy who essentially only has 1 year's experience. If you track his development, this is a very good long term bet.

Good signing. Wolf takes a little risk off and the Flames took some more by signing this offseason. At least it came under the 10-12 million some people thought he’d get haha

71 games played.
8 years ahead.
He ties Vernon if he averages 57 appearances in the 8 years.
He moves past Kiprusoff is he averages 63 appearances in the 8 years.
