Long term and great that it is under 8.0. That will be a steal every year going forward IMO.

Seems like a great deal. Very happy with the signing, and hoping they build out well and quickly, so we aren't perennially stuck in the middle BC we can't score
But enough Debbie Downer. I'm very excite
Lastly, can someone smarter than me explain why no 8th year? I noticed a comment about max term, but I thought 8 years was on table until next year

Likely the player wanting it to be 7 so that he’s 32 for the next contract, not 33.
Last I read max term is still 8 years right now, so that’d mean this is all just negotiation based length.

Need to try our best to get to the SCF within this 8 year timeframe, because he sure as hell is getting an 8 digit contract after that one. Smart of him to go the 7 year route, it will make him a UFA at 32, which is another good chance of another 7 year deal.
