If the roles where reversed, wouldn't Reid do the same thing?

No.
There is plenty of precedent. Biden and Reid have voted against nominees before, but there has never been a nominee denied a vote in this manner.

That may be, but the Constitution does not distinguish between the two, nor does it require that withholding consent be done for only a reason that is acceptable to you (or to anyone, for that matter).

Shrug. Doing nothing is an action that is Constitutionally allowed.

They didn't with the previous president. Not to anything approaching the childishness that the Tea Party swing in the Republicans has done.
Honestly if the side I was supporting was acting the way the Republicans for the last six years have, I'd be embarrassed. Regardless of what you said before, their job actually isn't to just refuse to work with anything the president does. That's not the checks and balances system, that's a tantrum.

Why are the police escorting people in? Their time would be better spent taking the people attempting to stop them from voting to prison?

Pretty good, the only real opponents to it are Catholics. Colorado has started shifting much more liberal so I'm hopeful. They're also looking to open up primaries to unaffiliated voters and increase the minimum wage to $12 by 2020. The wage thing will probably lose I think.

I would argue that, under Scalia's interpretation, it's not.
This is a "duty".
However, it is also improper for either of the other two branches to attempt to enforce that.

You're not wrong, you're just an #######.
The problem is that they are not "doing nothing" because the nomination is unqualified, or even has beliefs that go against the GOP. They're literally doing it to stick it to Obama/HRC/Dems. That's fine I guess if that's how you think politics should work, but I don't particularly agree.

I'm not a Trump supporter but I would love to see a Trump presidency just to see how crazy things get and to see how the markets react to that news. I would also love to see Hillary lose and watch her and her supporters react to that news.

Presuming that you are a U.S. citizen, then you should work to change the Constitution so that it aligns with how you think it should work.
