Seriously? And no, not going to be well recieved here at all.
EDIT - Guess I can't speak for others, but I sure as hell am against it.

I would lose my #### if we made that pick at 6 without trading down, because I guarantee you GMs will be blowing up Treliving's phone about moving up for Tkachuk. Would absolutely lose my ####.

Well received here too.
I think Keller is the 4th best plyer in this draft group. Just takes some courage to go for it. Bennett stays on the wing maybe?

Chiarelli says there's maybe only 12 true No. 1 defencemen in the league, how hard it is to get one. He believes this draft only has No. 2s.

Great interview bu Steinberg with Button just now.
Confirms PLD will be a winger, not a Center. PLD admitted this in their interview and they agree.

Which for me is BS. Keith, Subban, Doughty, Karlsson, Weber, McDonagh, Ekblad(debatable, but close imo), Klingberg(same as Ekblad), Suter, Letang, Pietranglo, Josi, Byfuglien, OEL, Burns. Maybe add Gio, Brodie and Carlson as well.
They are all guys you could make a case for being number 1 defencemen. Some less than others, but I think the group is larger than 12 for sure. How many times do legit number 1 guys come around in a draft?
Chiarelli is being an idiot. A number 2 guy that can cope fine on your top pairing is still a piece you need to have.

Interesting. Does that affect teams if PLD said the same to them? Because the thought was that Vancouver(and the Habs if they get the #4 pick from the Oilers) would take Dubois because he projects as a centre wasn't it? If he says he will be a winger, does he slide past Tkachuk and maybe even Brown?

Hopefully this drops PLD down a little bit.
Vancouver definitely needs a center (if they don't move their pick).

i'm not 100% convinced that Arizona wouldn't take Keller at 7. Their best hope long term at #2c is Dvorak, who's definitely not a sure thing.
I would be disappointed if we traded down to 8 for 38 and ended up losing Keller over it. However, Nylander would still be there so, eh, whatever, he's still great.

Could see the Canucks easily leaning towards Brown or Juolevi in that case. I feel like the have labeled Center and Defense as the areas they are looking to bolster the most in their prospect base.
Montreal would still take him at #4 if they traded up IMO - they want him more because of the francophone aspect.

I think he might. And I wouldn't be surprised if the Canucks take Brown.
If it's true that the Flames expect two of their top six to be available at 6, and judging by Button's comments to Steinberg, my guess is the Flames top six looks like this:
Matthews
Laine
Puljujarvi
Tkachuk
Brown
Sergachev

Why no Dubois? He looks like a stud. The classic combo: size + skill = exactly what we're missing.

Read again. He said thats what he thinks the management will rank the top 6. He could well be right.

Yes, I read it correctly the first time. Why would our management, who have consistently advocated finding players with size & skill, pass on one of the biggest skilled players in the draft? And not even have him in the top 6?
Edit: *I'm genuinely curious. Did I miss some vital piece of evidence which points to our scouts not being that high on Dubois? Seems crackers to me.

yes. fantastic vision, fantastic skating, fantastic hockey sense, fantastic passing ability, good shot, but small. leads his team in scoring wherever he goes, plays on the pk and the pp. the only question if if he can transfer his game to the nhl at his size. if he does he will be a top 30 scorer in the NHL in my mind. you can't not pick that at 6.

If Keller was 6'2" instead of 5'10" it would be the "big 4" and not the "big 3" at the top this year. His size is the only thing that keeps him down a bit.
