Haha no. I just like the absurdity of it all. Thankfully we don't seem to go for neo-nazis in mainstream politics here so it's hard to find a direct comparison.

Yeah I think he'd be more likely to invite Derek Fildebrant than Brian Jean.

Maine's governor getting in with a hot take.

“I will just say this: John Lewis ought to look at history,” LePage said during a radio appearance on WVOM. “It was Abraham Lincoln who freed the slaves, it was Rutherford B. Hayes and Ulysses S. Grant who fought against Jim Crow laws. A simple thank you would suffice.”

I think we've found a new walking definition of "tone deaf".

It's far more than that. Ulysses s grant was part of introducing of original law that started Jim Crow. It's more than tone deaf, it's pure racist ignorance

Tone deaf sort of implies ignorance... but I take your point.

Guessing we see trump brag about 3 million+ people in attendance on Friday.
Quote:
Though Trump has bragged about his inauguration's "unbelievable, perhaps record-setting turnout," officials are expecting about 800,000 to 900,000 people to hit the National Mall on Friday, as opposed to the 1.8 million people who attended Obama's inauguration in 2009. Trump will also only attend three inaugural balls—Bill Clinton went to 14 on his inauguration day, and the Obamas went to 10.
Meanwhile, scalpers say they're losing money on inauguration tickets—Yossi Rosenberg of Manhattan told the Daily News he bought a pair of tickets for $700 in hopes of selling them for $1400, and he can't seem to get them off his hands. He even advertised them on white supremacist websites like the Daily Stormer, but alas, Trump's old buddies seem to have abandoned him, and the tickets have remained unsold. "Nobody wants to buy them," Rosenberg told the News. "It looks like I'm stuck with them, I might even have to go."
At least he'll get to see a couple of Rockettes?

something else I heard in regards to John Lewis and Trump saying all talk and no action...
While John Lewis was being almost beat to death and thrown in prison fighting for rights, Trump was getting his 5th draft deferment

It implies that he is either correct but too blunt, or is missing context. This is neither

Eh, that's not what it means to me, but I'm not going to argue with you about it or someone's inevitably going to accuse me of bogging the thread down with semantics.

Incoming sexual harassment lawsuit from Gloria Allred... press conference in a couple hours. Good on whoever the woman in question is (not named in the article but another source says she'll be speaking at the press conference) for facing what's going to be a torrent of backlash from Trump supporters.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats/...source=copyurl
edit: I should clarify the lawsuit may or may not be sexual harassment, simply that it's on behalf of one of the sexual harassment accusers from earlier in the year.

‘Leaving country next week . . .’ Tom Arnold thinks he’ll be assassinated over alleged ‘Apprentice’ clips
http://www.bizpacreview.com/2017/01/...medium=twitter
Tom tweeted Jan 16th this is not true - he is leaving the country for work.
He tweeted this on Jan. 15th (such a tease):
"We are getting 2 the Trump Truth. Lots of moving pieces vs lots of coverup but if I have 2 sacrifice myself 4 my country truth will come out".
