Exactly this. People tend to fall in love with depth defenseman because they are sheltered which makes them seem to be better than they really are.

Tor, Van, and NJD are the clubs with strong interest in Zadorov. Tanev, solid right shot Dman is a huge draw and, of course, Hanifin. The Flames are in no hurry to sell assets. If a team steps up in a big way, everything has to be considered. I’m not sensing urgency from Cgy.

Thinking back now about his comments earlier in the season about the players not liking hard coaches then not liking soft coaches and that they just need to show up and play probably says it all.

I’m sure he thinks the core group is soft and pampered. Which from the outside looks to be true. The AHLers that have been brought up have shown more heart. Guessing he doesn’t want to be a part of that. Was probably pissed when they canned Sutter. Think he and Toffoli were big supporters.
