I like Zad, but if he wants out, make it so. So tired of hearing from guys that want to be elsewhere and causing distractions. Clean house and get guys that want to play here. You can do that by bringing in young hungry guys with careers to build. Do it right and rebuild/retool

Might not have acceleration but he has top speed and more importantly has that crazy reach with his wingspan.

We saw it last night.

Not worth over 7/per in my mind.

Something not right here. He was all for staying only a couple of days ago and now he wants out! This organisation is beyond bad, it tries to keep players who said they want out and then does not support a player who was willing to stay on.

This team is already butter soft and we are now going to lose the only person who can throw a decent hit. He is also one of the only decent defencemen who could actually shoot the puck. He should have been tried on the PP as I doubt he could make it any worse.

He would have been ideal to keep around during a rebuild. I despair of this team.

That could be a Forsberg for Erat style move. I'd love it, but man - I just don't know if Z is getting a return in this realm. Could Vladar and Z tip the scales? Schmid and Vanecek haven't exactly run away with the job.

Sad if true. This generations version of Todd Simpson. Oh ffs.

This guy plays like he wants this team on his back right now. Who else is leading the clownshow?

Honestly. For the people spewing stupid hate wake up. Zadorov has been steady , is vocal and transparent about what he sees , feels etc.

Breath of fresh air. Conroy!!!! Better fix this buddy boy. This hasn't even begun to ugly yet folks but this could be a bad bad bad start

Why now? There has to be a story behind this request and the timing. Just when things were staring to look up for the team too. Hoping he is healthy scratched going forward, really selfish move by Z and have lost all respect for the player. This puts Conroy in a corner and crushes his trade value hurting the franchise going forward.

he's in a contract year and wants more minutes to get his payday. I don't think there's more it than that, honestly.

Why do they have to move him in the next 48 hours. I said wait if that is all the return is, not keep.

Then going public at this point is a really selfish move as it limits Conroy’s ability to get the most out of a deal.

Todd Simpson was not spewing hate, he was a heart and soul guy that was not a great hockey player. That is Zadorov to a tee. I hope they get a good return for the guy but he is not someone a competitive team wins with in their top 4. He is an effective bottom pairing guy.

Agree. And sees Lindholm dying on the vine. How’s lindholm worth $8.5mm right now in FA?

Does it limit the ability to get a return ?

Everyone knew he would be traded or signed .

The market is set by the competition between other teams , not Conroy (unless he decided to pull a Burke and take nothing over something)

This isn’t a signed player forcing a trade . It’s a UFA wanting to be traded earlier before the deadline .

And Conroy can wait as long as he wants

I suspect the level of interest/potential suitors will increase towards the deadline. Contenders are almost always looking to add depth. I’d bet that’s when you can get the best return via multiple teams making offers.

That said, if someone wants to step up now and give the Flames what they want, you take it.

Considering the Flames gave up a third for Zadorov (a move that was widely panned by the way) anything more than that should be a win. I think the Flames should easily get that value back. Hopefully all the ‘asset management’ people will acknowledge that when the time comes.

There is no way this comes as a surprise ro the flames or is out of nowhere

I am betting this is just to Amp up the pressure on the flames and encourage interest given the team have done absolutely nothing to address any of the ufa issues facing the team and he probably told them he was leaving months ago.

Hopefully this finally kicks the team in the ass to make some moves and rhet get a decent return. club has just been sitting on its hands doing nothing watching another classic flames middling team stagger towards a bad draft pick and near playoffs miss or first round exit with more key assets having their value run down

Just dont trade him to edmonton please.

I wonder if this is strictly about ice time does moving Hanifin temporarily appease the situation?

The sequencing of these 3 dmen trades is important I think.

Just a guess but I think it's more, he was critical earlier in the season of teammates who had been saying sutter was the problem and seems to like that harder style of coaching. Seems to me like he would prefer to be in another room
