I'm not as happy about them getting Hyman as many here. I think he's a good player and will most definitely help them unfortunately.

It likely will help them but they have to go all in right now. It's their only option. And when you have two of the best players in the league I guess you never know. Long term though this contract likely looks bad so I'm glad the Flames are losing out on this one. It makes more sense for the Oilers than the Flames.

I think it’s going to end up being 7 years x $5.25 million. I know lots of people are speculating $6 million AAV but I think that’s the Edmonton media train trying to make anything under $6 million per year look like a steal of a deal.

Now that the Oilers are so sure they have him, I can’t wait to wake up tommorow and read that Hyman signed with the Kraken for 4 years at $4.5 million AAV.
