The only useful thing to come out of that was Bill Maher repeatedly saying "stop taking the bait".
This is literally the only thing you need to do to deal with provocateurs like Milo Yiannopoulos. Don't burn the school down. Let him say his peace to the 300 people who can fit in an auditorium who probably already know everything he's going to say anyway from following him on the internet, and continue on with your lives. If that had been the (sane) reaction, he never would have been on Fox or Real Time or the other appearances I assume he's gotten out of this and we wouldn't be talking about him now.
The only reason anyone knows his name at all is people taking his bait. Without outraged reactions he would literally be nobody. Totally unknown.

I can't speak to the protests in general, however the only reason it because big news was because of AntiFa getting their hands dirty and turning it from a peaceful protest into a total ####-show.
It's pretty much borderline Anarchism at this point.

To add on this...liberals who take the bait and reply with rude intolerance or ending the conversation run the risk of making the social problems tougher to solve.
No one needs to accept BS but many actions I see from the 'left' are counterproductive

It's funny that the old schoolyard "ignore the bully" is just as true now as it was then. Maybe all the anti-bullying campaigns are bearing fruit here, people don't learn how to deal with a bully anymore.
Others are speculating that the president may have confused Sweden with Sehwan, in Pakistan, where a suicide bombing on a Sufi shrine killed at least 80 people on Friday.
Oh well, that's understandable at least. Sweden, Pakistan, those are like, right next to each other.
What a ####ing embarrassment.

That's some arrogant speculation. I'm not sure that it's helpful to litigate his literacy level at this point. It comes off as bitter and largely irrelevant.
Yes, if he's truly illiterate that's a concern, but you need more than this to start that parade

If leaks are suggesting that he's got issues reading briefings and reports sent to him, which Presidents are required to do a lot of daily, that is a pretty significant issue.
Here's the original video he did on this issue, there are some pretty damning things in this video.

The ironic thing is that if he's truly illiterate, he's amazingly smart. Imagine how hard it would be to get through life without being able to read. All the things you have to remember, all the ruses you have to pull, all the strategies and tricks and dodges and facades to constantly keep up.
If he has been able to pull that off for 70 years, 40 of those years in the public eye, wow, he'd have to be one of the smartest and craftiest people in the world.
He's not one of the smartest or craftiest people. We all know that. Like a big chunk of the population, he doesn't like to read, but he can obviously do it. Of course being the President isn't a normal thing, and reading and knowing things was (in every other election, ever) a prerequisite for the job.

I would debate the point that being able to understand complex nuanced policy documents is 'largely irrelevant' for the POTUS.

Successful con men are smart...that's not a contentious point.
The main thing that concerns me is where and how he gets his information. If he can't manage to keep Sweden and Pakistan separate in his head he is ****ing unqualified.

Sigh.
I have no doubt he's unqualified, I don't think he really gets his information from anywhere except his "gut", and I know he's a con man.
I was talking specifically about his ability to read. He can read.
You know it's bad when even Fox News is tired of Trump's bulls**t.
That was pretty good, he had me right up u till the end when he said the fiasco of the travel ban, was the judges fault, and the people that were out protesting were paid protesters.
The other guy was talking and SS muttered those remarks in the background, 7:20 ish. Then I realized I was listening to Fox News again.

I think he was saying those remarks sarcastically, at least thats how I interpreted that.
