But surely the people beneath with damage are engaged in this as well? I know I would be if I had damages arising from this? Any word on how much they incurred or did the cork basically soak it all in?

Actually, I would think finding out how your neighbours sinks are installed, strapped or not, would help your case. Theirs arent, then everyone has an issue and all go to the builder together. Theirs are all strapped and yours is the one that isnt, an obvious defect in installation.
Start knocking on doors man.

What other options does he have?
Ignored in his quest, on page 4 my comment about the Better Business Bureau is a good one. Once I had an issue with a plumber involving a very similar story as polaks, except I went to the BBB.
Companies really don't like that in my experience. My issue was resolved immediately.

yes so i did add pics to twitter to make it more legit, new to Twitter so just trying to figure it all out!
When this all started, the first place I got in touch with was BBB but they don't deal with claims "out of warranty", really hate how some stupid 1 year warranty is protecting them from this obviously faulty install. The sink was always incorrectly installed, we just found out 3 months after warranty expired. So frustrating.
Anyways I'll see what I can do now that they deleted their reviews!
I'll be knocking on doors on Monday. I shouldn't bug people on the weekend, right?
In other news, the mayor wants more information, how does one open a letter to the mayor? Dear Mayor Nenshi?

I can't seem to see the answer to my earlier question.
Was the lack of strapping identified by your home inspection prior to purchase, or did you never get an inspection done?
Have you obtained information regarding the installation of undermount sinks as it pertains to the code?
Edit: One more question. When reviewing the documentation in regards to the home, were the warranty documents reviewed by either yourself or your lawyer?

Don't bother with BBB. It's a pay to play company that protects the interests of those who pay.

No, strapping was not identified as an issue in the possession day inspection. Didn't inspect how the sink was attached. I am speaking to the manufacturer of the sink on this issue and they have told me that the sink was clearly improperly installed. I'd say it safe to say that it wasn't installed up to code considering it ended up nearly on my floor......
I went over the documents with the rep from Attainable Homes. This document just explained the ANHWP and what was (supposed to be) covered. It was all in laymans terms.
Sorry, Im trying to answer every thing as best I can.

I would suggest that you contact the city and talk to a inspector who can tell you what the Code calls for. Assuming isn't enough.
I would also have a lawyer look over the all documents you received. You need to understand what was provided to you and it is very clear that the conversation with a customer service rep wasn't enough. Would be very shocked if there was nothing in the paperwork that describes the warranty period.
The lack of an inspection can't be mitigated now, the time for that was prior to clearing conditions on the sale.
Where was your realtor in all this? Did they recommend an inspection or a lawyer at all?

I hate to say it but so many companies out there right now will default to a "no" answer. It requires some form of pressure, be it social media, the BBB or Head Office to get them to even lift a finger to resolve your issue.

How many Twitter followers do you have? I would think the more you have the better your odds are of "making noise"
May I suggest a mass CP Twitter follow campaign?
Post your Twitter handle and everyone here follows you

Is there really a code for sink installation? Other than securely.

I honestly don't know as I have never installed one. I would guess that the code is not very specific and would defer to the manufacturers instructions. I looked at a few different models installation instructions and most had clips which were to be installed underneath. Although I did find one ceramic vanity sink that just stated to use PL and clamp it til it cured.
None specified strapping or blocking but my search was hardly exhaustive.
After seeing this if I ever were to install one i would strap it just to be safe.
One of my clients had these sinks installed in their house, and I did the final connections and faucet install. The guys from HD who installed the granite did the sink and I never really checked how they did it. i am now curious.

I had a custom counter made for my bathroom and had them put the sink on. They used a metric assload of epoxy. So much that I had to grind a bit away to make it fit my supports, and that epoxy was very difficult to remove. I'm fairly confident you could put an elephant in my sink and it would not detach from the counter.

I believe I am correct when i say that there is no code that requires strapping for an undermount sink. This doesn't preclude the counter/cabinet guys (who are always the guys who do undermount installs) from being brought to the carpet for a poor installation. usually, as noted above, there is an epoxy used for these depending on the type of counter-top.
I know that it has happened where inspectors (in the past) have asked to have strapping removed from sink installations for some bizarre reason.
I don't know current codes at all, but I won't be surprised if it turns out there is nothing on that side of things that will have any influence on this case.

Start by mentioning that your sorry the sink couldn't crush uber, but there is a hole now in your kitchen that could fit a small bike lane, and recommend that he use your kitchen as a reference for Calgary Next to adjust their proposal to ensure that the Flames cover 100% of the cost for any sink straps for the new rink

So user "crunktrophywife" posted this ridiculous comment on reddit:
"I watched your video, I am curious as to why you did not turn your dishwasher off. As another RESPONSIBLE homeowner, I know that when water starts to leak you want to turn it off. Why was taking a video more important than preserving your property in this situation? In my own personal situation, I know when something bad starts to happen, I try to stop it before filming for the entire world. Basically all the water damage to your property was due to your own negligence and nobody else's. Further, typically when adhesive wears out, it does not fail all at one time. You must have watched your sink sag for days while doing nothing. Which brings no doubt as to how you irresponsibly let your dishwasher run over your entire floor, damage your apartment, and your neighbours apartment. From the video, you appear to be a conscious and responsible homeowner. Congratulations on washing a perfectly clean pan, in your bathroom sink. All the best."
As for the content, I addressed it in the reddit thread (would love some upvotes on that) but important little tidbit here, in my original email reply to Truman Homes attempts to get me to stop sharing this, I closed my email with "All the best" after warning them that my story has garnered the attention of the media. Considering how valedictions are not common place in reddit and my "All the best" was obviously in jest, and that it seemed like a forced throw in, well, I'll let you make your own conclusions....
