You win some you lose some, Flames entire roster are guys other teams passed on or traded...including the best line in the NHL.
It's about time we got over it...did Canes fans bump a thread everytime Lindy got a point?
I swear some posters like SB more than the Flames

Looking at the 2014 1st round, there sure were a few disappointing picks. Bennett was drafted pretty much where he was projected. In fact, some thought he might go in the top 3, and for a short time some thought that he might go first overall. He was the #1 ranked NA player by Central Scouting, but then ended up being the 3rd NA prospect picked. Perhaps the other teams picking ahead of us had some concerns about his upside. Personally, I remember hoping the Oilers would pick him and we would get Pissy.
After the Bennett pick, there were quite a few whiffs, but a couple of steals in the mid and late 1st round. It was kind of a weird draft.

Honestly I think even the people bringing up Sam are "over" it.
This topic riles you up more than anyone. Why not just avoid this or any topic that might in some way be positive about ex-Flames?
Unless you just like the back and forth, which I totally get. I like that too.
But then don't tell people to stop talking about it.

I really thought Draisatl was going to be similar to Mark MacNeil. Successful because he had man strength against boys, but not good enough to translate it to the NHL players. Obviously very wrong on that one, but at the time, I was really happy Edmonton drafted him.

To be a championship team it takes a lot of different parts at the right time coming together.
The flames couldn’t find that mix with Bennett on the roster.
I’m not saying now they have a championship team without him- but they are closer then they have ever been.
It fact is this team is better now then it ever was with Bennett around. It’s not necessarily a correlation but it’s just a fact
Time to move on

I actually didn't have any special insight on him, just what I read and I like the name Leon.

I already called myself a hypocrite...to be fair though it wasn't me bumping it from pages back for 2 points in a meaningless game. Thread would be long gone if a couple posters didn't bump it every time he scores a point.
This also isn't the only thread/topic I post about
People can do whatever they want though, just in general IMO a fan shouldn't get too worked up about a 49 point player that got away. Much better than that has been lost and gained and will be again. If we are going by hindsight lets go back and draft David Pastrnak instead of Sam.

Of all the threads on all the message boards you just had to click into this one.
Some people enjoy the horse-beating. Would you rather it bleed more into a bunch of other threads?

The thread ENDS when he hits 600 goals or 1500 points!!!!!!. Whichever comes first.
It is pretty hilarious we have an Oilers-type Shremp thread on Bennett.

This thread has done a very good job of containing the Bennett discussion within one thread.

I save my bitterness for when we let good players go on waivers and lose them for nothing. I won't forget you Paul Byron!

I love this thread and insist it stays open until Sam Bennett has my baby. Or puts a baby in me. Either one is fine.

Did he a score a goal or make a bonehead play that caused a goal against? Either one is "Playoff Sam Bennett".

Anyone here that isn't happy to see it is a bitter fan. Sam did nothing but give a 100% in Calgary. He was mishandled and needed a change of scenery.
I hope he has a great career!
