I'm thinking I'll name and model him after John Scott.

Funny on the PC all you have to do is open your console and type unlock and it opens up

Put me in the column of overwhelmed. I'm like 4-5 hours in and all I have done is leave the vault, complete the battle in Commonwealth and play around in sanctuary crafting.

Well that narrows it down to the entire map. Good job, Zavo.
The game is truly overwhelming. Town building is hard, yo.

How do you build a new house in the areas that had ruined houses on them in Sanctuary? None of the walls line up with the pre-existing floor, and even if they did, the doorway wouldn't match up with the stairs.
Ugh.

I have done near-zero of the main story after ~8 hours, and built no houses. I've just been wandering looking for "dungeons" and leveling up/upgrading my gear. Happy to have already upgraded my power armor and found a Fat Boy.
Maybe I should build some houses; people in Sanctuary seem pretty unhappy.

I lucked into a Fatboy about an hour into the game. I have had no issues with Raider Power Armor or Deathclaws (that I could see coming).

Loving it so far. Really thought the way they did the ghouls was great. They climb through windows, the ceiling, holes in the floor, etc. It makes for interesting battles.
Also enjoying the power armor upgrade system. I have barely used the armor but have been socking away the aluminum cans, etc to beef it up for any big battles.
Have had no bugs, glitches, or crashes yet. Seems to be working fine but I have noticed the odd chug when entering a new area or the weather/lighting changes.
Lastly, hoarding is becoming a bit of an issue for me. I'm not really sure what components are of good use for crafting so I tend to keep lots of junk. I have found that adhesive (duct tape, glue) is very important for crafting, and ashtrays come in handy but I've got to stop grabbing everything that's not nailed down!

So I got to the Deathclaw boss at the start of the game, and he somehow walked into the sewer and got stuck. I was able to just stand there a foot away from him and kill him without him hitting me once.

So now Fallout is out - does this mean Bethesda is now working on a new Elder Scrolls title?

The building mode would benefit from a top down view on consoles.
I've been searching high and low for more copper for electricity needs.
Also, finally made it to diamond city, but left pretty quick.

Ahhh I wanna go home and play. It *almost* makes me want to skip the Flames game
I've played maybe 4 hours and haven't made much progress, screwed around with the sanctuary and just started exploring. No complaints so far, I'm really enjoying it

I skipped the Flames game on Tuesday. No shame.
If anything, I'm glad I missed it because it sounds like it was a disaster.

At the work bench you can apparently highlight a resource you're looking for. Then when you're scavenging a magnifying glass will pop up on those objects holding the resources you're looking for.
Phones, lamps, hot plates, cooking pots are some sources for copper.
