It's really tough this year - we don't even have an independent we can vote for. I refuse to vote for Anders, I really don't like the NDP economic platform and they don't have a credible candidate in the riding anyhow, I don't like the Green Party's anti-science stance (banning GMO research, eliminating risk-based management of contaminated sites, etc.), so I think I'm going to have to hold my nose and vote Liberal for the first time in my life, even though I don't like Ignatieff. Anders will almost certainly win, but I'm not going to help him.

You know what, I'm with you if this gets investigated and it's directly the Conservative party or any other party for that matter doing these things, then of course throw all responsible in jail for this. But lets be clear here, you have a perception and that perception is shaping your viewpoints here rather than facts. It could be a number of different things behind what's going on.
EDIT: I would also be really impressed in a Dr. Evil kindof way if the CPC had a database of people who aren't voting for them and proceded to have an action plan to deter them from the polls. If you talk to people who work the ground game it's hard enough to identify people who might vote for you let alone know a significant enough bloc of people who will vote against you.

Since when has motive been enough to transfer the burden of proof?? Your post is ridiculous.

Do it, I'm a Conservative and would love Anders out, even if he was the 155th seat! Maybe if he lost then the riding association in exile could bring forward a different quality candidate.

On top of this...sure it could be a CPC supporter, that certainly doesn't mean that anyone in the party knows who is doing this. Could be that lone wolf guy who has decided to try and do things his way. Same could be said for any other party implicated.
the leaps of assumption here are stunning.

You ended with "So prove otherwise", inferring that there was a need to prove the Cons weren't involved. That's ridiculous.

They keep him because the people vote for him.

Not really - the federal branch of the party basically fired the riding association for trying to hold a nomination meeting, and have previously taken all sorts of other actions to protect him. They also changed the rules to make it almost impossible to call for a nomination meeting - you need 2/3 of the party members in the riding to vote "yes", with everyone who doesn't actually mail in a ballot treated as a "no" vote. When a court overturned his acclamation a few years ago, they changed the rules so that only previously purchased memberships would count in the nomination meeting (so challengers couldn't sell any new memberships). The CPC bends over backwards to keep Anders in place.

Kinda like when they hilariously leaked the story to the media about how Layton had gotten a happy ending massage . . . oh wait, that was the Liberal's.
There's nothing in there that points to the Conservatives doing the call. So good to see that you have an active imagination to go with that awesome intellect of yours.

Prove otherwise was meant to say prove that another party has more to gain because I just said I didn't know who was responsible.

I never assumed the Layton happy ending was CPC's doing. Didn't realize it came out that it was the Liberals. Must have missed that. Personally, I would have guessed it was the Bloc, as they had the most to lose.

I went at 2pm and it was more or less the same malcolmk14. I'm 20 and I was by far the youngest.
Considering University/College is done already, I thought there'd be at least someone around my age but nope.

That's the real issue with the youth vote. Saying that they support one party or another is one thing, but getting them to actually show up and vote is another. I know that I've talked to a dozen or so friends that say they like the NDP the best but that they didn't plan on voting.
