It looks like the track has been washed away entirely.

My mind is blown that they are even that far into repair. I was truly shocked when I saw this.

That was my reaction too ... that's incredible progress, especially if the rumour that they can obtain enough sand is true.

It's either real or an amazing photoshop.
Water in front is brown, you can still see mud on the concourses, track is gone and those are Terex haul trucks moving in new sand. You can see the loader in the center of the frame, which would be loading the trucks.

I would of thought the vehicles there would be in a little bit of mud, at the very least, but it's looks practically bone dry there now. They must of been working 24/7 with a huge cleanup crew. The trees are fully upright... grass is rather clean looking. Looks completely organized. As if all they had there was a little rain shower. Just amazed.

Good chance the Stampede pic is legit, as there appears to still be substantial water at the far left of the photo.

Now that I am finally caught up with this thread I thought I would share my story of the events as someone who was visiting the city.
I was downtown at the Hyatt all day on Thursday with a very busy meeting schedule. We all knew that Canmore was in trouble but even Thursday afternoon we were still planning to head to the Kananaskis river after work on Friday to kayak with the Oldman river planned for Saturday and the Red Deer river on Sunday. After the meeting we had a client party that ran until 11 with about 400 people and almost no knowledge of what was happening. (It was formal so no one was spending much time on their phones). We didn't realize the extent of the threat until we left the party looking for a bar and were told that everything was closing early so that employees could get home before all of the roads closed.
On Friday morning we lost power at the hotel at 8 AM and were told to evacuate the building around 10:30. At that point downtown was a ghost town except for a long line of cars on center street trying to cross the river. Center street was gridlocked but we took a dry 5th avenue and left downtown on Memorial with no incident and zero traffic. Deerfoot was also fine heading north and out of the city. (We thought of staying but didn't want to add to the burden on the city.)
Anyway, I was just amazed that at a time when so much was happening we could be collectively busy enough that word never spread. We thought the bartenders were joking when they said they were getting out of the core while there was still time.

We've sent down a number of hydrovac trucks to help out with the cleanup, and help Enmax get the power back on. So there's definitely an exception.

You're definitely welcome. Did it end up dropping on it's own? Those guys from Red Deer were pumping the broken sanitary line into the main trunk all night and all day today and lots of basements were draining again. Hopefully they get that lift station operational very quickly.
Also saw Rhett Warrener driving around with a frac truck drying out some basements. Very cool to see the lengths people were going to in order to lend a hand. Amazing stuff.

You sure about that? I was by that bridge this moring and they were cutting away at the south end with stone saws. Saw a couple huge holes on the approach to it as well.
