Unlike France, Canada does not have secularism built into its constitution or governing traditions. Canada is a liberal country, and a cornerstone of liberalism is religious tolerance. We don’t ban hijabs (notwithstanding the unconstitutional measures in Quebec), forbid Jewish schools from operating, or prevent religious groups from running for school boards.

Cliff, no one is saying that can't run their own private indoctrination schools, we take issue with our tax dollars funding them, and them being treated like this is a totally normal thing.

I'm confused. That Instagram post sounds like she supports gay rights. Why else would she put a picture of children waiving a pride flag next to a picture of a child waving a flag that she supports?!

Canada is a religious plurality, and while not explicitly defined as a secular state, it's very much secular by convention. There is no state religion in practice, and things like religious consideration for immigration were dropped long, long ago.
