Unless it was the potty trainer that went back to the room with him.

Including the playoffs? We'll be meeting the no-goods every year for the next 3 or 4 is my guess. Can you really just sit your supposed star goalie for an entire series? Seems risky. And if one team can get in his head I'm afraid that becomes contagious.

I think we'll see a more motivated Lindholm when he hears that he was compared to RNH by the Sportsnet panel in the first intermission.

He has been letting in lots of bad goals. This is not a one off for him. He's struggling. Unless we think a 903 save percentage is good enough.
Are you just not reading all the posts criticizing him?

Just making it clear, sounded like you thought that's what actually happened and based on your post others probably did too

If he doesn’t try to play that puck then it just goes right to McDavid anyway, who you may have heard is good at scoring, and we would have all had to hear about how “he’s so weak mentally that he was afraid to play that puck and look what happened!!”

#### goals happen.

Was a great game last night. Flames were the better team.

Of course the refs did their part and tagged us with questionable calls. Wouldn’t be an Oilers game without the usual league pleasantries in their favour.

Thought Markstrom was solid.

People seem to be freaking out. Was a very entertaining evening.

You need to score more than 2 goals to beat the Oilers. Not sure you can hang this one on the goalie. Second goal was a fluke. Third goal was the defensemen’s fault.

McDavid is going to get a point or two every game. You can’t let him get more than two though. Not saying it’s easy.

Can't say I really understand or agree with the sentiment of just waiting patiently for the top line like chemistry is some sort of voodoo thing. I cannot think of any instance in my time watching hockey where this has been the case where a trio of players need infinite amount of time to work. If players work together they show so right away. Bennett scored with Huberdeau literally the first game after he was traded. This line has been together since preseason in Seattle I believe and has anti-chemistry. They are so out of sync they have not scored a 5 on 5 goal. Do they need time or new line mates?

Yesterday’s game felt eerily similar to the series we saw last year. Another come from behind win with Markstrom once again, spotting the Oilers a goal and to the same guys who had his number last season, Hyman and McDavid.

I know it’s just one game, but when McDavid and Draisaitl raise the level of their game in the playoffs, who’s to say we won’t see the exact same outcome again?

In my opinion, I’m just not sure Markstrom is the right goaltender to go up against the Oilers. They’re clearly in his head and it doesn’t look like he fixed that over the offseason.

In a series against your top rivals, I don’t think it matters who your #1 goalie is, you go with the best goaltender available and that’s probably Vladar. I mean heck, Jack Campbell’s time with the Oilers is only a few weeks old and they don’t seem to have a problem going to their #2 guy against us.

100% agree.

Weird thing is, officiating is like this for all Oilers games. Really makes me wonder just how much the media campaign to give McDavid / Oilers more calls actually worked.

Watch any random weekday game. For sure there are bad calls, but not like ones that favor the Oilers.

McD with another 3 point night, starting to think he might be more than generational in all honesty.

Obviously not ideal that McDavid and Drai seem to always perform at their best vs the Flames and our stars tend to go cold. Ultimately though, it seems to take monster games from the Oilers’ lottery balls to beat the Flames even when our top guys don’t perform all that well. On the one hand that’s encouraging, knowing if flames perform that they should mop the floor with those bums up north.

I would be a lot more worried about Markstrom if he let in more softies on his glove hand. He was quite solid other than his big gaffe. It's not like he's been playing lights out and then sh*t the bed against the oilers. He's started off shaky this season and is gradually rounding into form.

Having said that, if we face the oilers in the playoffs this year, and he starts off shaky, we have to switch to Vladar for the series. Flower had a history of being shaky in the playoffs sometimes, and he lost the net despite him normally being a top goalie.

Lol. Well the only thing past generational is greatest of all time and he’s not that.

All this "McDrai raised their level in the big game" and "Oliers in Markstrom's head" stuff is very overblown.

Simple misplays led to the 3 goals against. Clean those up and the greasers don't even get a sniff.

In case no one noticed most of Markstroms softy's are long range that he just whiffs on and even when he makes a save from well out he looks shaky or it just hits him.

I think he needs his eyes checked.
