[GT] Canada Election 2025
I don’t want to say I told you so, but… yeah… CPC under a more likeable, competent leader might have made a difference tonight.

What would they gain? 6 seats?
As long as Trudeau is the opposition I bet the conservatives could run a lawn chair and win.

Fair to say the large majority of posters (not this one) are very happy with the results.

Remarkable turnaround for the Liberals. Trudeau leaving and Trump becoming an enemy completely flipped the script and a crushing loss appears to be heading to a massive victory. They have kept power and possibly could have a majority.

Hopefully this works out for Canada. Carney is easily the most decorated/educated PM in Canadian history is he not?

Could be. Mulroney and Chretien were lawyers.

Even with Trump, PP still had an out against an outsider. He simply could not answer how to deal with Trump fir months and months

Happy that PP will not be PM. Other than that I’m still worried about our country. I’m uncertain whether Carney’s government can improve things like affordability and deal with Trump. I’m annoyed that I’ll be hearing separation talk from Albertans.

Just very sad. As a born and raised Calgarian, progressive, social conservative I guess I just don’t have much in common with the majority of Canadians anymore. Tired of the country being held hostage by Quebec, among other grievances.

There's no such thing as a progressive social conservative. In fact they're polar opposite to each other.

I really hope this is a wake up call for the Conservative Party. Nobody is interested in inflammatory nonsense. Do some work and stick up for us, and the country will vote for you.
