How are people still excited about Poilivere when they hear him say stuff like this? Seriously, CPC members should get a leadership reviewer under way so we don’t end up with this guy as PM? PP is not the creme de la creme of the CPC caucus. He doesn’t show any attributes of a solid statesman or someone who works well with anyone.
Is anyone really excited? This all feels more like opening the windows in the spring to air out a winter’s worth of farts, even though you know it’s just going to smell like cow crap instead… but damn, I’m sick of smelling farts?

Pierre is just trying to get out ahead of a very formable opponent potentially. Mark Carney could potentially be a very serious candidate. His resume, knowledge and his managerial skills are beyond anything currently available on the Liberal bench. Freeland was Trudeau's right hand MP pretty much for almost 10 years, she would have a lot of questions to answer about where things are politically and economically in Canada. She wears a lot of the current political baggage and the calculation from Pierre is that she is done as a Liberal contender.
Pierre is campaigning on issues that really are hitting home for a lot of people, and a lot of people in vote rich areas. This isn't the classic Conservative party coming in hot trying to sell the country on a lot of Prairie popular initiatives. Pierre isn't going all RAW RAW on Canadian Oil and gas, pipelines, guns.
He is really hammering home things that are hitting vote rich places in the GTA hard. Housing prices, immigration levels, rent costs, carbon taxes, social disorder, crime, the feeling of feeling unsafe as a result of social disorder, inflation as a result of poor policies under the Liberals.
I don't think that Pierre and the conservatives are going to fix all of the above or anything but it will get them elected. It's the opposite affect of why the Liberals seem to be spinning their tune on matters that are clearly affecting their electoral chances. There is a reason why immigration levels are changing cause Canadians see it first hand the challenges it has caused. You can't sell it to the people that it hasn't caused issues as it's right in front of them. Business in every corner of Canada are talking about inflation and the Carbon tax. The Liberals have rebranded and stopped framing this as "your getting way more back than paying" The reality on the ground is different which is why Liberal front runner Mark Carney considers the carbon tax having need to be changed, tweaked or reimagined for more actual investment as opposed to hoping for behavior changes.
His twitter feed (or the first few tweets of it at least) popped up when I was googling his comments about Trump’s 51st state nonsense.
Twitter seems to sporadically come up with individual tweets or widgets with a few tweets side by side in Google. Not sure what triggers it, as similar searches don’t always bring up the same.

Who is excited for PP?
Canadians are excited to see Trudeau and his merry gang of corrupt fools get kicked out of office.

Then let’s strive at least for putting people with less corrupt and morally bankrupt personalities into positions of power than staying with the status quo. Trudeau and Poilivere should both go and bring in some leaders who are serious. If all is true, CPC will win the next elect easily. No need to stick with PP then. Find someone that everyone can get behind.

For all the crap he takes, Trudeau handled this one as well as he could.
This was a pure set up, by a woman known in the area as bat crap crazy, anti-trans, anti-vax anti-everything loon. I guess she was going for likes or retweets or whatever, but it just showed the gross side of society now.
The guy was on holidays and his son was right there. You have to be a pretty terrible person to do this, take video of it, post it, and think it was funny or something. If anything, we should feel sad for this woman and her mental health. This should not be normal in society, at all.

I’m personally not excited about seeing any politician. Because I know anything they touch is going to turn to crap.
But I am excited about seeing an end to the current federal government. It is by far the worst I have ever seen in the 30 to 35 years that I have been voting.
Trudeau is the worst leader I have ever seen. To the point that there should be standards set for anyone running in the future.

Why would they have a leadership review when poles have the conservatives trending at 241 seats and the Liberals at 6?
What would they gain? 6 seats?
As long as Trudeau is the opposition I bet the conservatives could run a lawn chair and win.

I agree. I already said Conservatives will win no matter who is their leader. PP isn’t Prime Minister material though. He did his job, but not really interested in him leading the country, no matter how bad the other parties might be. Need a new presence there. Must be somebody in the party that are up to the task, just not anybody that ran in the last leadership race though. Preferably somebody without convoy or anti-vax baggage or ever used the word “woke” in public.
I guess to start, I would not say the he is a traitor, that seems like an old man yelling at the clouds.
Now obviously Kevin O’Leary would in no way at all be representing Canada if he was to discuss anything relating to Canada as a whole. I am curious, when countries get together to discuss trade and economic cooperation, are some ‘business leaders’ ever involved? Like in the background obviously.
I guess anyone is allowed to talk about whatever they want, I could go down to the US and talk about anything I wanted (nobody would listen, but that’s another story!).
I would actually be interested to see an objective breakdown of the pros and cons if Canada and the U.S. unified from both country's perspectives.
There are several different types of unions that stop short of annexation. For example, Scotland is unified with England in the United Kingdom, but they are not annexed by England and have their own parliament and law making abilities. Or the EU example as also pointed out where countries maintain their sovereignty buy unify on some policies.
I am not saying I would be in favour of a Canadian-American union, but I think the discussion is interesting anyway.
