No I wouldn't. Not even close to the realm of thinking that.

In fact, I would have said it was even worse because I predicted St. Louis to be much higher in the standings.

I joked in another thread a week or so ago that the Flames might end up with seven 1st rounders this year.

At the rate they're going, this might come true.

Pathetic. Why even trade for the prospects? These no name clowns that we get for our best assets. Not even a solid 1st it is conditional on the Blues making the playoffs.

Such a horrible trade. It is sad that we are taking garbage prospects for our best trade chips. We are in for a long 5 years, Feaster better be enjoying his last job in hockey management.

My sense is, once again, the owners were heavily involved.

They are definitely bracing against a drop in revenues as a result of the ongoing firesale. As a result, I'm guessing we'll be a bottom 10 team in terms of payroll next year.

So like somebody mentioned, it's possible we could've retained 2-3m of JayBo's salary for next year, but that's 2-3m of ownership's money they don't have to invest in what very well could be a lottery team next year.

Why are people so mad? Last year, everyone would be ecstatic if this was the return for Bouwmeester. We are most likely gonna stay top 3 without him and possibly higher with Kipper gone too.

Wow. After how bad feaster has done with these trades, I'm not so confident that he will do well with our 3 first picks...

Ecstatic he's traded. Glad we got something when it seemed like he had absolutely no value last year.

This is great news.

Honestly, if the Blues do miss the playoffs, this is an even better deal for Calgary because they get an additional 4th round pick.

See, this is the part that really pisses me off. It isn't like the return is staggering or they added any kind of legit prospect to the deal and Feaster gives them an out if they miss the playoffs? Stupid!

I don't get the love for Rattie. At all. If its just his 'chemistry' with Sven, tats a terrible reason. Terrible like going to the same well over and over for buds of Iggy.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but watch for the Flames to be extremely aggressive on July 1st. Can't think of any other reason they wouldn't retain some salary because at this rate they won't hit the cap floor. They are going to be spending some dough this summer. It will be an interesting team next year with 2-3 very young players in the lineup and some mercs as well.

1!

You got another 1st round pick in a deep draft. I'm sure Feaster could have traded Jay Bo for Rattie straight up if that's all you wanted.

Yup.
