The reality is if the Flames can convert the likes of Lindholm, Tafoli, Hanifin, Tanev, and Markstrom into say a combination of 10 picks and prospects and 3 of them go onto play 200 or more games. That will be extremely successful and 2 would be better than expected. Plus add in whatever guys like Sherangovich and Kuzmenko can contribute. The reason a Filip Forsberg trade is remembered is because it's very rare a deadline seller can pull off a heist like that these days.

If we're keeping a handful of vets, I'm keeping Coleman. Other than Backlund who's older, there's nobody I'd rather have teaching younger forwards than Coleman with his two-way prowess, day in and day out professionalism and multi-time champ experience. I'm on board with this retooling movement, but there's certain guys who just have so much value to hang on to.

I agree, he’s won multiple cups. As long as he wants to be a Flame, you keep him around.
Some Flames fans want this scorched earth rebuild. Trade everyone, get rid of all the vets, etc. That’s exactly what went wrong in Edmonton for a decade and that’s what’s going wrong in Buffalo. You can’t just have a bunch of youngsters and throw them the keys. They need some guidance and direction. Zary and Pospisil have talked about that exact thing when it comes to playing with Kadri. He gives them guidance and leadership. That’s what you need as a rebuilding/retooling club

Daws getting lit up, time to pay the price New Jersey
The announcer commented in the first period that Daws was over .940 in his previous 4 games. I’m guessing the 6-2 loss would put a dent in his save percentage.
If other folks introduced the "news" in the same repetitive manner would they not be eviscerated. I dunno feels like there's a double standard. Just my 2c
I think it hurts flames more in terms of leverage as runway runs out. Unless devils looking towards next season in which case why not wait till off season instead of paying tdl premium
The Devils are in year 10 of their rebuild, it is still early days. Not sure there is a tonne of pressure to succeed yet.
