I thought you were replying to a different part if my post. My apologies for mis-interpreting your response.
But in this game the Flames had more scoring chances, and more high danger scoring chances by a significant margin, and list 3-2. So I guess I should say it feels like every breakdown ends up in our net.

Breakdowns happen. The amount that's happened during this slump is far too many to expect a goalie to constantly bail the team out. Even if they don't result in shots they create pressure which leads to the chances they do get. Especially when it's two or three turnovers in a row to keep the puck in the zone.
Like I said earlier, we like to make fun of the Oilers for their team defense but the Flames' team defense during this slump has been embarrassing. Yes, they have injury trouble but the forwards are making extremely dumb decisions too.
As long as they keep playing this way it doesn't matter who plays in net.

Tbf it also feels like they don’t do anything with their chances.
Whole team sucks right now.

You think there's no goalie in the world that would have stopped that 3rd goal?

That actually bodes well when some of these things sort themselves out. The team might just have to set their sights on the 8th seed instead of the first.

The winning goal we got caught and the NJ player had basically a breakaway from the blue line, 1 mistake and it's in the net, the way it's going right now. One of NJ's other goals, one of the callups took a point shot that wasn't hard enough to make it to the net but instead right onto NJ stick and they went on a rush and scored. Those were the 2 mistakes that stood out to me.
We scored 2 PP goals so we are now 5-1 when scoring a PP goal.

The Oilers game up 18 high danger chances tonight and had two goals scored. The Flames gave up 6 high danger chances and had three goals scored.

No, it wasn't an unstoppable shot. But the chance should have never happened and was completely unavoidable. And as long as it keeps happening bad things will happen.

Vladar has been worse, and in the unlikely event he was better, we haven’t exactly excelled in OT this week.

I like how it was supposed to be one game a week for Vladar and we are 4 weeks in and hes played 3 games. Not saying Vladar is the answer but the team knows Markstrom needs more rest, acknowledges it, and then doesnt give him rest.
He probably gets a game soon anyway but play Vladar on the Back to backs

Welp. Called the score, just got the teams mixed up. Something has gotta give, this team can’t be this bad.

It’s a 3-2 league, that’s just reality.
Teams average about 32 shots per game, and goalies average about a .905 save percentage.
If you get better than a .920 save percentage you generally win if you get worse than a .900 you generally lose.
Flames have had a save percentage over .900 three times this season! (Knights, Hurricanes, Penguins)
They have had the higher save percentage three times this season! (Avs, Hurricanes, Penguins)
I’ll say it again but based on our shooting and save percentage it’s remarkable that we are 5-5-2.
We should probably be 3-8-0 or 3-9-0 like the Blue Jackets or Blues with the type of goaltending and shooting percentage we’ve had this year.

If it's a high danger chance, by definition it has better odds of going in than being saved. You give high danger chances you're going to get scored on, I feel better knowing it was high danger chances instead of low percentage shots going in.

Is it, though?
Or does it subjectively feel that way because our goalie isn't making saves?
I agree that when this team plays its best, they give up virtually nothing.
But this team should not need to play at that elite level every game to have a chance.

But this is just false. Based on high danger chances per 60 and scoring chances per 60 they have been fine.
The goalies are just letting more in so it feels like the defense is worse.

You care way too much about stats. Not every high danger scoring chance is the same. It's about quality not quantity.
All that the Flames allowing six high danger chances mean is that the Devils held onto the puck more than the Lightning did. The Flames' team defense was still horrid.
