No it doesn't. You don't need to exaggerate to make a point. He can be better, yes. That 3rd goal was not good.
But the team defense is so much worse than last season it's actually shocking.
You think there are teams that go entire games withoht a single defensive breakdown? Like teams are out there giving up zero high danger shots and just play perfect? There are defensive mistakes in every game, our are just very apparent right now because we are getting very few big saves.
Markstrom's numbers are just brutal this year.

That’s obviously not what he’s saying, why play dumb?
The defence hasn’t been good. That doesn’t change anything about how good Markstrom has been. Just as Markstrom not being good doesn’t change anything about how good the defence has been.
Criticising one doesn’t mean you’re excusing the other. Relax.

Considering the injuries and the roster turnover It’s actually pretty close at 5v5
21-22 (Full Season)
2.29 xGA per 60
9.6 HDCA per 60
.925 save percentage
22-23
2.48 xGA per 60
10.6 HDCA per 60
.902 save percentage
So it’s slightly worse but the bigger change is the change in save percentage. Honestly our team defense just feels worse since every chance (or half chance) ends up in our net.

Your post doesn't make any sense, I never said any of those things.
You want to exaggerate to make your point, go for it I guess.
Couldn't watch tonight but reading the comments and listening to the post game, it sounds like the Flames are producing results that simply can't continue for long.
Unusually bad goaltending, poor finishing, brain farts, timely penalties against, general lack of cohesion, and they're still competitive in these games.
That actually bodes well when some of these things sort themselves out. The team might just have to set their sights on the 8th seed instead of the first.

That was exactly what he said. He said good teams don't have defensive breakdowns. That's just not true. Good teams limit defensive breakdowns.
The Flames deserved to win this game tonight if not for Markstrom. Same With the second Oilers game, and same with a few others. He is a huge reason the Flames have lost 6 in a row.
The Oilers goalie goalie allowed 2 goals on 37 shots and 18 high danger chances tonight.

He said “no it doesn’t” to “The difference is almost every defensive breakdown ends up in the Flames net.”
Sounds like you need a visit to the center for ants.
There’s no way this season the team is doing as good a job defensively as last season and 6 high danger chances sounds about 2-3 too many for a “really good defensive team” or one that was touted in the offseason as having one of the best D’s in the league.
6 high danger chances means a chance of 6 goals. That’s not good. Then there’s the eye test and the chances and opportunities for opponents this season has been insane. Wide open shots and point blank chances all game routinely. It’s ridiculous actually.
the highly touted deep blue line hasn't played a single game fully assembled yet
they're playing 4 regulars and only 2 are with their partner they were tabbed to play with
think we need to save judgement on the blue line part . the team/5 man unit defending, on the other hand ..
