Markstrom was fantastic. His game looks too shelf right now.

even though they were disjointed at times they had TONS of chances tonight, keep going and the goals will come. They just didn't go in. 1 error lead to the goal, it really should have been 0-0 after the 3rd

Agreed. I think he will only need minimal run support.

Hanifin made 5 or 6 really bad passes tonight. He seemed off.

Dome was fine. Noise was as loud as game 1. Not much to cheer about most of the game, but still lots of Go Flames Go chants. C of Red was still 90% red

Flames fans will react. Every hit was cheered, every close chance, etc.

Was at both games and not understanding the take that the crowd sucked

When is the last time a member of the Flames blamed the ice?

Just remember folks, when we won it all in '89 we had to battle to a 4-3 series win against the nucks in the first round.

(Trying to be positive)

I"m really excited for game 3 and 4. I feel like being in Dallas will benefit us. Dallas played to neutralize an opposing crowd, but when they get amped up in front of their own fans and open up a bit, I think we'll see the Flames feast a bit.

Once they pot a couple of goals I think we'll hit our stride and start putting Dallas on their toes, and they won't have the firepower and skill to keep up.

Sure, but I'm much less concerned about Dallas. They were the last wildcard until the very last period of the season. 13 points behind Calgary. Negative goal differential for the season. We should be beating them handily, maybe we still will...but early returns are not good, and its not being a pessimistic troll to point out reality. I'm not saying we'll for sure lose, I really hope not, but I picked Dallas to win in 7 games on the poll and its certainly setting up that way. Someone else mentioned it, but for sure getting 2006 vs the Ducks vibe.

I like to see Ruzicka center Mangi and Dube/Tiffoli. Probably Dube more as he’s got the wheels. Backlund should center Coleman and Tiffoli. I’m really wondering if Tiffoli is playing hurt. Dube should be moved up to line 2.

Which would explain more casual fans grabbing whatever jersey they had.

When the Flames used to charge semi reasonable prices for round 1 it was all hardcore fans, every game. Now that they're comfortable at the $400-$500 mark for lower bowl, most of the best and hardcore fans won't be in the building, and you'll get more random friends and family of wealthier people and employees that don't care all that much but got free tickets.
Not sure how this problem can be solved. Maybe give season ticket holders first rights to buy tickets to not only their seats for playoff games, but a certain number of other seats as well. Plus, special discounts on those ticket purchases. Maybe that's how you get more diehards and less casuals into the building. Maybe it's not the best idea, I don't know. But something should be done, IMO.

Flames effort is there, dominated possesion, and nothing about Dallas worries me offensively.

Bowness played scoop it out and go and clog up the neutral zone right away..and when Faes get the zone, collapse keep the Flames out of the middle of the ice. Top line isn't going to crash the net, why position themselves to get space to shoot...like two and three need to crash the net. A guy like Backlund is playing two hand touch hockey, avoiding high traffic and high scoring areas at all costs and if 3 guys on a line aren't pulling in the same direction you're not likely to get many chances.

Sutter will drag this team up, and we are a far cry from the "oh it's 2015 again" garbage that's popping up here.

Puck bounced and bobbled and after shift after shift in the first and second and any chance for opportunities for killed from the start for our top line.

I expect that won't be an issue in Dallas, which is embarassing.
I always wonder if the replacement ice plant following the floods was a budget option, with the assumption that a new arena was on the horizon.

Probably never, but that doesn't mean it doesn't change the complexion of the game for both teams.
