Not gonna cry til game 20.
They were 2nd best team for a good amount of time to finish off last year.
Always peaks and valleys in a season, I still have faith.
GG's player utilization absolutely needs to be questioned but after watching the game I don't have a problem with the ice times of players, but rather when that ice was given.
Game is on the line, 1 goal, and you're sending out your worst players?
You know the team is on the bench silently thinking the same thing. Some sort of stupid message or some sort of stupid thinking, either way wtf!

So then why for no reason at all, when all the guy did was bide his time and play well when given his shot, would you take him back out of the lineup and ruin what was a good thing? What does that say to a guy like Kulak, outside of “your efforts are noted but gtfo anyways”. Honestly GG can just take a hike any day now.

Yeah that burned my bacon too.
Earned never given. Glen spits in the face of that at times..

I suppose, although I think to start I'd keep Versteeg out there with different linemates against a different level of competition considering the level of success he's had in that position in the past. If he'd continue to falter, then yeah, Stone.

I'm embarrassed that Jagr has to witness this mess.
He doesn't deserve this.

I really want this team to show me something soon because I feel like I'm becoming less and less invested. I don't like this feeling.

I wish Brouwer & Stajan had any semblance of an NHL quality game left in them, but given that they don't, I wish they didn't have NHL contracts anymore.
And why oh why is a good-for-nothing but face punching bum also playing so damn much?? Glass has NEVER, EVER been any sort of NHL quality player.
What a stinkhole of a bottom 6 cast of players and Bartkowski; so much dead wood.

Where's the2bears and his band of 55 koolaid drinking GG lovers at tonight?
As the sample size closes in on 100 for GG's games coached with the Flames the light bulb starting to turn on for more and more people about how utterly terrible he and his staff is.
But it only matters if that light bulb turns on for management. If not Tre will go down as the most over rated GM this organization has ever had.

Agreed. Hathaway is twice the player Glass is, and they sign Glass. This team needs to start cycling through their minor league players and separating the thick from the thin. If you don't have what it takes to be a bottom 6 player, goodbye. Next in line.

You aren't the first person to say this, but you are wrong. Gg is the head coach. He chooses the assistant coaches. They report to him. He is directly accountable for their performance.

The Hamonic trade isn't looking very good right now. It's not that he's terrible but I expect a lot more for a guy that fetched a 1st and two 2nd round picks. That's a massive ransom for a guy that looks like a 4th defensman on a good day.

Stajan basically lost the game or at least cost them a point with that useless little slash that resulting in the winning goal. Stajan was downright bad tonight. My wife and kept saying why is this guy still playing as he no longer has NHL skills. He is a great guy and I am sure he is great in the dressing room, but he should not be on the ice. People are complaining about Jankowski, but being at the game we thought he looked good and IMO the problem with that line was more related to Versteeg than Jankowski or Bennett. I think both Versteeg and Stajan could use a few games on the bench. Definitely Stone needs to replace Versteeg on the PP.

If I was to run the powerplay, I'd personally run it like this:
Tkachuk
Gaudreau - Monahan
Giordano - Hamilton
Jagr
Backlund - Frolik
Brodie - Versteeg
|
According to the fan skills event..Backlund actually has the hardest shot on the team so...

As long as Bartkowski is playing games for this team, I won't be able to support the continued employment of Brad and GG.
The problem is not that Bartkowski is bad and contributes to the team losing hockey games, it's that the people who could (easily) stop it from happening are doing nothing about it.
He offers less than nothing to this franchise and the fact that he has played games this year speaks to a complete lack of awareness and/or intelligence from anyone responsible for the roster. Good teams don't make mistakes like this.

He's better than Stone but not by leaps and bounds. I don't think he's better than Methot and he was fetched for a 2nd round pick.
