Alright I stand corrected, so they should have followed him around until he left the grounds or called the police if he was such a problem.

And that still doesn't give them the right to assault, which I guarantee will be the outcome charges on at least one of the clowns.
Keep defending these clowns, it shows a lot about someone that they can't look past how a guy looks and see who's in the right and who is in the wrong.

I have not defended them. I have said that we need a complete fact picture prior to making a decision.
For example, if a forum member only read your posts in this thread they would think you were a reactionary know it all, that lacked the ability/desire to see both sides of an issue prior to making a decision....

Says the guy that classifies all "rent-a-cops" as $10/hr losers......

Aside from that, the whole situation went down right.

You've got to be kidding...
...you can tell there is a good reason for those guards using controlling force?
...you can tell another guard needed to come in and start punching so that the guy's hands could be put behind his back?
...you can tell, that notwithstanding the punches (which you justify, but now say are wrong) that the "whole situation went down right"?
The mall cop coming in issuing punches is clearly wrong based on what we can see on the video.
Whether all those mall cops should be holding that guy to the ground in the first place is unknown at this point.

It doesn't matter what he did.
Why can't you grasp that. Punching a guy while he's being subdued by 5 other guys is wrong and even one of the saner rent-a-cops realized that and had to hold him back.
There was absolutely no reason to punch him while he was on the floor. A punch isn't going to make his hands magically handcuffed.
Keep fighting the good fight though UCB. And I don't care if I come across as a know-it-all, I'd rather come across as that then a person who defends people breaking the law. You say you've got history dealing with Chinook security but with your fib-telling history on CP I highly doubt that.

From watching the video the punches were nothing more than love taps trying to position his body in the right position in order to cuff him. The guy sounds like a loser. Maybe more beatings would put some sense in him.

It's not Chinook Centre Security's job to do that.

Video of the lead up is certainly crucial, but based on what we have the attempt to say that this was justified (other than the punches) under that protocol diagram was total garbage. You don't get to work through it backwards to justify your actions.
|
I agree fully, but based on what we see in the video we don't know what happened before. I guess it really boils down to, do you automatically trust what this guy says or would you like more evidence.
Either way, I think we all agree the punches were inappropriate.

Also, please fill me in on the "fib-telling history".
Also, ask yourself why your name has been changed to puckluck2.........

Oh I definitely want more evidence before concluding anything, which was the point I was making about using that diagram to conclude that this was acceptable.

Even though this is a generalized statement, there's some element of truth to this. I've been to Chinook mall hundreds of times and I've never had my ass beaten down by security guards but that may be because I treat other people with respect and don't act like a total ###### clown.
If I was sitting on an escalator (I wouldn't do that, why would anyone put their own safety at risk by sitting on an escalator?) and a Security guard asked me to stand up, I'd stand up. That would be the end of the altercation right there at that moment.
This guy didn't deserve what he got, no one would deserve that. But judging by his "look at me" attitude after the fact, he probably wasn't all that respectful in the moment to the security personnel. He was clearly disrespectful enough to make a few guys want to pound on him.

Why is it only taboo to blame the victim when it comes to rape? Regardless of what happened before the video started rolling, there's no defense for some of the actions on that tape.
