Just play "Wild World", and if they say it's Cat Stevens let them in and if they say it's Yusef Islam deport them. Seems simple enough.

Sorry for another drive-by post ; I'm at work.
This is a good time to read Sinclair Lewis' novel "It Can't Happen Here".
Picked up a copy from Amazon. It's mesmerizing.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet.
I hope we can't say that it did happen here to a further extent than it already has.

I honestly think we're entering a post-truth era. Social media and algorithms have opened the door to a world where people will get exactly what they want: simple narratives that confirm their existing beliefs. Complexity, nuance, and any notion of a common political forum are being tossed in the dustbin of history.
And it won't even require lying - just an absence of context. In a plugged in world that captures the behaviour of half a billion people (and that's only the english-speaking world), you can find evidence of anything. Stirring political calls to action. Political corruption. Police heroism. Police brutality. Scientific alarms about X. Scientic debunking of X. Races and genders casting slurs at one another in every permutation imaginable. Anything you want or fear to see in the world - any crime or injustice or scandal - will be validated before your eyes.

Trump planning victory tour of states he won. Will toss garbage out the window over states he lost.
George Gigicos, the Trump campaign's advance team director, said groundwork is being done for the president-elect's first trip.
"We're working on a victory tour now. It will happen in the next couple of weeks," Gigicos said at Trump Tower, according to a pool report.
Asked where Trump would go, Gigicos responded: "Obviously to the states that we won and the swing states we flipped over."

The best part of the Trump victory tour is you know every event will be loaded with protesters looking to turn it into a #### show, which will of course further serve to divide the country rather than unite it. Whether he gets himself assassinated or the GOP takes him out through impeachment, it seems impossible he makes it to 2020.

I can't think of a single scenario where a victory lap will result in anything positive. It won't even stroke his gigantic ego since he'll either have to give his speech amid chants from protesters, or he'll have the protesters thrown out at which point the protests will REALLY start.

Yes, but he could then stoke a popular uprising that would justify the use of extreme measures and the invocation of Artikel 48, quelling the rebellion through force and tightening his grip on power, moving the US closer to dictatorship.
Or he'll just sell some more hats.

I can. If he uses it to talk to his supporters and placates them with "the people who were against us are our fellow citizens, and my goal now is to bring them all together with us", and so forth. Gives the "Stop being jerks" talk to the fringe elements. Doesn't threaten protesters but says things like "we have to show them that they're wrong, and once they see what I'm doing they'll be voting for me in four years".
None of that is likely, but it would certainly be positive if he did it. At this point, he's the only one who can do anything to remedy the damage he's caused, or even slow it down. Obviously, he's the only person they'll listen to.

Trump is apparently considering Romney for Secretary of State. Which would easily be his most sane choice to date. Which of course means it's all for show.

Hahaha there is absolutely no way he is considering Romney. None. Romney absolutely pilloried him.

Do you think Mitt will even accept that appointment? Why would a man of grace and substance want to be a part of that clown show.

To drive the Trump cult insane? They'll start having serious doubts about Trump is he's making nice with Mitt. For Mitt well.....pretty much the top cabinet post so nice gig and world travel for his dressage horse?

Or maybe attempt some kind of Frank Underwood style coup and take over the Presidency.
Although he would have to get by Pence too.

Also, I don't really have any doubt that Romney actually wants the best for the country and would be willing to work towards that goal. He should take that job if only to do whatever he can to keep the country on the rails. But again, there is zero chance he'll be offered it. It's Trump. Trump doesn't forgive people who cross him, and Romney was unequivocal in his view that Trump has no business being president.
Also, here's a weird story about how Steve Bannon managed to get rich off of Seinfeld. http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...DB&via=FB_Page
