Worth noting that even the tweet GullFoss quoted only compares his qualifications to other opponents of the lockdown. It does not compare him to any of the proponents (e.g. Dr. Fauci). Basically, they're admitting "this is the most qualified anti-lockdown person we could find". Even more illuminating would be comparing the combined qualifications of all opponents to the combined qualifications of all proponents.

This is the saddest part. He is absolutely going to hurt them (financially and socially), and he'll tell them he's doing an amazing job and everything is awesome, and they'll believe him. Once again, education and critical thinking skills are simply so far down the list of priorities now amongst the American populace, it's going to have a severe, long-term effect on QOL. The GOP will be taking advantage of their followers for money and power - the grift.

The only upside is that in all likelihood the Canadian Government should be able to say "Yup we fixed it", do nothing about it, and Trump won't even care to ask any follow up questions.
As long as he can say he won a deal, he's happy.
It's like dealing with a child.
"Sure kiddo, we'll stop for ice-cream on the way home" (then desperately hope the kid forgets about it because he's distracted by something else)

The current de facto policy director of the president-elect, like most plutocrats, wants the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to be abolished:
Elon Musk called Wednesday for the elimination of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, one of the nation’s most powerful watchdog agencies, signaling it could be scrapped as part of a planned review of government spending ordered by President-elect Donald Trump.
“Delete CFPB,” Musk said in an early-morning post on X, the social media site he owns, categorizing the bureau as an example of “too many duplicative regulatory agencies” in Washington.
Formed in the wake of the 2008 banking crisis, the CFPB has a broad mandate to protect Americans from unfair, deceptive or predatory financial practices. Its current director — Rohit Chopra, a Democrat — has recently issued rules meant to shield people from medical debt, make it easier for them to switch banks and limit the fees they face from falling behind on their credit card bills.
Since its founding, the CFPB has secured more than $19 billion in consumer relief, while penalizing large financial institutions and technology firms for allegedly mishandling Americans’ money. Its oversight often has stoked the ire of the nation’s biggest banks, credit card companies and other lenders, which have sued the bureau repeatedly over charges of regulatory overreach.

.
Rian Johnson denied it and the timeline doesn't make sense - it was in production before Musk made his big Twitter move. Johnson said he was just a generic tech billionaire. But there's a definite resemblance. But so are there between the other "disruptors" and generic archetypes. Bautista is an ahole bro podcaster like Tate/Von/Rogan. Kate Hudson is a Kardashian/Hilton. Hudson is a typical semi-corrupt politician. Odom Jr. is a Wozniak.
It would never happen, especially under a Republican president. No way they would want to add a bunch of states which would mostly be blue. It's more likely that they would use coercion, propaganda, and election interference to install puppet government.

Oh no no, mon ami. Why bother with a puppet government when they need our resources like water. They will make us a big Puerto Rico. Us territory of Canada. Woo.
Hey look - another fentanyl super lab bust in BC. Wow. So much surprise.
What’s your point? Are you suggesting that all illicit drugs manufactured in one country are automatically destined for another? So what do you make of drug bust in the States?

Oh, you're right. Tariffs will fix this right up!
On the serious side though. Does finding random anecdotes of drug bust happening make your case that it really is a problem (especially if it is a "super" lab), or does it maybe mean they are finding them and shutting them down.

Are you suggesting that police moved up these warrants and arrests for political purposes rather than follow standard policing practices and thus jeopardizing long term operations or are you suggesting that these were going to happen any way or are these just non-meaningful arrests that won’t make a dent being done for show.
If these arrests have meaningful amounts of work behind them AND were timed based on the best timing for the operation then Trumps actions had nothing to do with them.
If Trumps threat motivated them politics likely got in the way of police work.
Wait I see these drug busts occurred without motivation from tariffs so what’s your point?
As an aside it’s really frustrating when people just don’t clearly post their intention and leave it for others to guess. It just creates arguments against strawmen. Basically it’s like ####ting on the sidewalk we don’t know if is a homeless person without a bathroom, some kind of IBS emergency or just as #######. It’s just a pile of ####.
