I get that it's Fox, but I never understood how the hell this decision was made.
If you hate the show, don't air it. But to just throw it out in some noticably random order just for spite????
It wasn't for spite. The suits at Fox didn't really like the pilot, thought it was too complicated and had too much talking, which is why the 2nd episode (The Train Job) also sort of functions as a pilot and reintroduces all the characters. Second, they were still going to air S1E1 Serenity first, but someone at the network decided to pre-empt it to show a Lakers game they had rights to, which, in fairness, the 02 Lakers were definitely very popular. EDIT: Apparently it was a baseball game? My memory is fuzzy.
I'm not sure why the airing order of the subsequent episodes was as it was though, or whether the order everyone watches them in now was even supposed to be the original order to begin with. There isn't really a particular reason why you would have to watch Shindig and Safe before Our Mrs. Reynolds and Jaynestown I don't think.

Growing hints toward an animated show, although of course non-verified. That would make it easier on the cast, and allow them to use Wash without coming up with "somehow, Wash returned" premise.

I hope not, I want to see the band back together.
I positively do not GAF how they handwave Wash back, he could be a time-traveler from the future or a Terminator, the Bionic Man, whatever, I couldnt care less. Get him in there and flying the Gorram ship!
He is a Leaf on the Wind gorram it!
That Primary Buffer Panel isnt going to fly off by itself!

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

Except it has done so at least twice that we know of. But don't worry, whoever has the stick will get the boat on the ground. Pretty definitely.

The Buffy reboot has been canceled; was confirmed by Sarah Michelle Gellar. Hulu decided not to proceed. Lots of talk about how the proposed pilot was terrible, but I think with shows like this it is hard to recapture the magic.

An example of this is the Scrubs re-boot.
I loved the original but now JD is annoying, the sappy parts are too sappy, and the characters are just not likeable including without having enough of Dr. Cox and Dr. Kelso to be the countering forces.
It's just JD and Turk high fiving each other and making lame jokes, which don't land as well when they are now middle aged dudes.
Also would have preferred live action, but imo wasn't realistic with the schedules of those doing regular tv, and those not really acting much, plus the deaths of Book and Wash (RIP Ron Glass).
I have never seen Firefly. I only know that the people who have seen to love it. I have seen a couple of Nathan Fillion's shows lately and I like his work. So with today's announcement I have decided to watch Firefly. I hope I'm impressed or else I'm holding all of you accountable !
