That is always the difference with them. We know and are well aware when we suck, that's what brings us together. They never know it or recognize it. Its like we have those They Live glasses and they dont know they exist.

Surprisingly I dont.
I dont know why. I felt bad for Skinner, but I think thats because he was like a 'Veteran.' He did his time in the ####. He had the 'Thousand Yard Stare' and he still showed up no matter how badly they treated him.
Jarry's trials and tribulations havent even yet begun. He is fresh meat for the grinder.

Oiler fans keep poping up on my X feed and the pain is glorious. Of ourse it's everyones fault except the wonder twins.
Jarry is worse than Skinner (no #### sherlock), knobby is a terrible coach who only plays the wonder twins together (wait, what), their D is terrible but not Bouch bomb, the lower lines need to start contributing, and on and on.

Deacades. Sather has all the local scribes in his pocket and made sure they pulled in the same direction for the organization. Meant all those stories from guys like Fuhr, Semenko and Anderson, it took Sports Illustrated to break them in 1986 or 1987.
Carried on with Lowe because Lowe wanted desperately to be the next Sather. Press could start ripping players and lessen the shock to the fans when the management makes dumb decisions.
Finally, how else does a decidedly average NHL player on a good team, get elected to the Hall of Fame 26 years after finishes his career? His campaign to woo and press and media, who vote, that’s how.

Has any goalie tossed by the Oilers (or now vilified) actually been a bad goalie? We mocked them when they were there but honestly most were medium level NHL goalies.

Haven't they notice Knob isn't the only coach that plays or played the wonder twins together.

The next three games for the Oilers are crucial as they face Vegas and Colorado and Dallas.
When you look in the standings, they're 1 point up on Seattle who have a game in hand and 2 points up on San Jose who have two games in hand
The Oilers schedule difficulty is 19th hardest in the league, but they have 10 games in their last 20 against really tough opponents and a .500 record could sink them.
If the Oilers lose their next three, look for full throated panic. If the Oilers miss the playoffs, I doubt Connor demands a trade, but I bet he tells the Oilers that if they don't make massive changes to the team for next year to make them a true contender that next trade line he's going to publically declare that he's out.

What kind of massive changes can they do though? Their 1st round pick is gone, they have no prospect that they can trade and they have no cap space. I saw it on Twitter that their fans want Bininington, I don't thing Binington would want to go there, even if he does, I'm sure as soon as he got there, Binington will instantly becomes Bummington.

It's too late for this season anyway, but Binnington in Edmonton would be hilarious considering his ego and temper. It would blow up in spectacular fashion. I wish it did happen.

There is a non zero risk if this season blows up (e.g. missing the playoffs) that Connor starts the ball rolling on being traded.
And if that's the case I think the leading candidates would be the major markets that would move heaven and earth to get him. Top choice Toronto followed by LA, and NYR. Second tiers would be markets that are large and have a young superstar for Connor to play with: NYI (Schaefer), Chicago (Bedard) and SJ (Celebrini).
Now some of those teams (like Toronto) don't have a ton of assets, but I think they would pony up everything they could to make it happen.
Do I think it'll happen this summer. Not really. But if the Oilers actually miss, I think all bets are off.
And I think the mis management of the cap, including the extra cap Connor has provided, and the mis management of the net, could be the elements that tip it over the edge.

Jarry has two more years at $5.375M so they would have to convince STL to take him back in trade, or the Oil buy him out.
If they buy out Jarry, he still cost $4.7M next year, and $4.2M the year after. So Binnington and him would be a combined $10.7M next year.
How do you make that work?

They can always attach a first to Jarry, trade Jarry and the 2028 first for Binnington and a 5th. And that will make their 2027 first unprotected.

Would love for these pacific teams to start putting up wins and pass the oilers. LA, Seattle and San Jose have had multiple chances lately but are playing very meh and not taking advantage of their opportunity to pass the oilers.

How much cap space do they have next year? I wonder if they try to sign Bobrovsky.

it's not just the next few games though... the oil need to win to get some breathing room and i remember reading here last week (i think) that the oilers have lost something like 75% of the games they've played against playoff teams!
i would absolutely LOVE for them to miss the playoffs - oh it would be soooo glorious!!!

When that happens, I'll crack open a bottle of Champagne, though I won't drink it cos I'm more than 10 years sober. But my family can enjoy it.
