If Skinner for Jarry isn't a microcosm of what it means to be a goaltender for the Oilers than I don't know what does. Jarry looked to be reestablishing himself as a true #1, and Skinner looked to be on his last contract, maybe into a PTO situation next season. Now it's the complete reversal. Skinner is a starter, and Jarry will be a buyout candidate next year. It's basically Dubnyk 2.0.

It's well beyond a goalie issue in Edmonton, it's a systemic problem head to toe. The entire team is to blame. They're a purely stats driven team that is lucky to play in a weak division. They wouldn't of made it out of the first round if they were in any other division.

The way those two interact with the media, neither of them appear to have much by way of social skills. Not exactly captain types, but these days no thought seems to be given to whether or not the player actually has any leadership qualities, its just who is the best player. I think that was half the oilers downfall making an awkward introvert their captain when he was super young

Am sure they are just blaming Jarry for all the teams problems, being dicks and making it even less likely his confidence rebounds and he can get his game on track.


They are in actual trouble here though. A bad 10 game stretch and they could quickly be a ways out of the playoffs with the kraken kings ducks shark jets and preds all picking up pts lately
