Lots of Oilers fans actually think this was a good trade. It's almost MAGA-like how gullible and delusional they are.

If you're honest with yourself you know this trade is better value than the Weegar trade. The Weegar trade is fine but the return is average and this is a clear overpay.
Take your own advice, and look at all the details of the trade again, before making this baseless claim.

If ever there was a time for the Benning "there are two Dach's" meme. Thought the Oilers did some ok damage control until I realised this morning...

There are actually Oiler fans on twitter saying that Edmonton now has a better forward group than the Avalanche.

McDavid > Mackinnon (debatable)
Draisatl > Nelson (sure)
Dickinson > Kadri (LOL)
Henrique > Roy (Lol)..

I'll give them Draisatl over Nelson but that's it..

Hockey is a weak link sport...the list above is barely a match to position 2..I agree with you, from 3-12 it's not even close...

The Oilers only chance is that whoever comes out of the Dallas/Minny/Colorado gauntlet will have taken some bumps.

Hence why the Avs are leading the league with 93 points, and the Oilers are, um, 18th overall with 68, and 21st in points percentage. It's totally because the Oilers are better than the Avalanche!

The more I read this...the more laughable it becomes....but even if you go down their mental road...

McDavid v McKinnon
Draisaitl v Necas
Dickinson v Nelson
Tenderness? v Kadri
Henrique v Roy

Then...who do you line the following players up against: Landeskog, Nichuskin, Colton, Lekhonen

Outside of Draisatl I don't think that list is even that close I'm taking taking the Avalanche player every time. Obviously Mcdavid vs Mackinnon is close but I think Mackinnon is the better overall player.

I feel Bowman is getting off extremely lightly for this trade. He should be slammed for the horrible asset management and having to attach a 1st to Bread just to get out of a terrible contract he handed out just a few months ago ... instead it's more of "adding Murphy and Dickinson addresses some issues" in the eyes of many writers. Nah ... he's bleeding assets, and he's not strengthening the team in a way that will give them a chance against the Central Division powerhouses. McDavid handed him a real opportunity with the cheap two-year deal, and he's wasting it in spectacular fashion.

Chiarelli-Holland-Bowman is just a hilarious line of GMs.

The moves the Oilers made (well the players they brought in not having to pay to ditch Mang) I actually like - these are the types of guys the Oilers should be getting if you’re playing Drais and McDavid 25 mins either way

It’s everything else they have done for the past 18 months that is the issue.

MacTavish-Chiarelli-Holland-Bowman are the Four Horsemen of the Oilers Apocalypse.

Mebbe. Excitement doesn't usually make me split my sides laughing.

Sorry for the obscure reference; that was monster truck’s quote about the oilers.

Oh, I got the reference. I just think ‘hilarious’ is a more suitable word than ‘exciting’.

Mackinnon is a winner too, Memorial Cup, Stanley Cup...

In the context of the interview, it wasn’t sarcastic at all. Wyttenbach gets what Huska wants his players to do, and as far as he’s telling, he approves.
