Maatta would be the cap balancing add.
Do you really think the return is centered around maatta?
CC would just keep weegar.
I suspect the futures are enticing to CC and co. Beaudoin and a 1st sounds about right.

Eh. At least it should calm down some of the group that somehow still thinks the Flames aren’t rebuilding…

Yeah, tough to say what he is now. He's had a decent career, but then he had an injury and then never found playing time when he got back. I think he could be okay for us short term.

Yeah maatta is to help us hit the floor. I’m not too stressed. Gotta be enticing for Conroy to move so fast on a guy he wanted to keep

I have said a few times that anybody that came along dangling a good young center would probably get whatever they wanted from Conroy. If Cole is part of the package, then you know that was a huge part of going to Weegar about being traded.
We have now traded a multitude of players and not had a single Centerman come back in any of those deals, so I think if Cole was what was offered from the beginning that’s what got Conroy to sit up and take notice.

That's just a completely wild take to me.
Do you honestly believe that Maatta isn't viewed as a negative value asset league wide being a 31 year old healthy scratch who is signed with multiple years of term and having nearly 8M dollars owing?
Taking back a multi year cap dump is not done as a courtesy to the other team. That's silly.

Honestly would love that return, I knew Matta's been bad but had no idea he's this bad. Beaudoin is the typical mid-late 1st rounder, good upside but has a lot to work on and a 1st. Weeger is okay, I've never been a huge fan to be honest, and he's been a mess this season.

This is pretty crappy for Weegar. If he says no, the fan base is going to be angry at him.
Even though I want him to waive, it really feels like extra pressure to waive.

The Instant Gratification crowd needs to do something to allay their trepidation. Blue balls indeed.

I really hope Weegar approves.
Utah is also a good team to go to. Exciting team.

He missed 3/4 of that season with a double hip surgery, making this is first full D+ season. This isn't even a full season either, really, since he missed the entire offseason, most of Utah's preseason and the first 9 games of Kelowna's regular season.
He has 36 goals 35 assists for 71 points in 39 games so far this year, in spite of all that time missed.

Weegar has a $50M contract to compensate him for these inconveniences.
